If you are a Canadian and you were thinking about going to the US… maybe don’t. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I just had a realization. Imagine if Stephen Colbert had never broken kayfabe. Like imagine he was still doing The Colbert Report.

For my Canadian homies. Did you know Elon Musk holds a Canadian passport? Yup, dual citizen. Anyway…here’s a House of Commons petition, sponsored by Charlie Angus, to strip him of his Canadian citizenship. It doesn’t use the word treason, but…you know… www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...

Did you know you can leave reviews on apps?

NEW: My picks for the top ten UBI articles of 2024 www.scottsantens.com/top-10-unive...

A big justification for universal basic income is that if the real median wage had grown as much as productivity grew over this same period of time, all three lines would be near $50 per hour. UBI can be seen as a GDP dividend. Wages will never fairly distribute GDP growth. UBI can do it directly.

Free idea for @larianstudios.com: on April 1, 2025, and only on April 1, 2025 Withers suddenly cares very much that you’re pickpocketing that gold back. Drop it as a stealth update for 24 hours and tell no one.

🇨🇦 Oh. Oh I’m in. 🇪🇺

Man, you know things are bad when Ronald “The Patron Saint of Republicanism” Reagan turns on you.

What’s that old yarn about history repeating?

I’d consider including ICE in ACAB, but I wouldn’t want to denigrate police officers.

My 9 year old almost beat me at chess. I am simultaneously proud and ashamed.

Best response I’ve heard today about SCOTUS upholding the TikTok ban: “Americans can’t afford bread and they just took away our last circus.” @jordanthegreywitch.bsky.social

You all know that the answer to your security question can be anything right? No one tracks that information. As long as YOU know what the answer is, your mother’s maiden name can be Worcestershire Sauce.

Une vraie pierre would be a better PM than Pierre.

I just realized that the best way to remember the difference between “defense” and “defence” is to remember that in Canada, there is a “C” 😳

@legaleagle.bsky.social will want to know about this. I’m surprised they weren’t mentioned in this piece since they’re suing the DOJ over at least some of these documents.

No good billionaires. Only good people who used to be billionaires.

Luigi’s jury will be made entirely of folks who use the self-checkout.

Six years ago, this would be national news. We would all be talking about it for months. Now? It’s just another Wednesday.

AI certainly can boosts profits but it does so by cutting paychecks (and jobs!). The JARVIS Tax fixes that. Tech thrives, humans thrive. Progress shares the wealth.

The JARVIS Tax: If an AI does the job of 10 humans, it pays taxes like 10 humans. That money goes straight to Universal Basic Income, healthcare, education, the arts etc... Everyone wins.

Remember: there’s no such thing as “corporate profit” only stolen wages.

As humans, we work to survive. AI models comparatively work for free. If AI replaces a worker, the company saves money: a lot of it. Enter the JARVIS Tax: Just AI Revenue Valuation for Inclusive Sustainability. Progress should pay people, not just corporations.

If you believe good old PP will be any better than JT, you’re as clueless as all the Americans who didn’t know how tarrifs work.

As a former Person of the Year myself, I agree.

It’s pretty easy to “determine there is an impasse” when executives can just wait out workers knowing the government will override their right to bargain.

It always makes me chuckle when I order the “Perfect Combo” at New York Fries and the staff looks at me like I’m crazy and asks if I want to upsize anything. If I did, the combo wouldn’t be perfect would it?

Upset about how Canada Post still isn’t open? Remember that the CUPW wanted rotating strikes; Canada post, the same Canada post who is lying in the press, locked them out.

Random reminder: I've been here since May of last year. It's gratifying to see how many have joined this platform since. Here's to hoping we can continue to use this platform to build worker power and help create an economy where gains are widely shared in 2025 and beyond.

The only thing I’m mad about here is that I didn’t think of this.

Oh no! …anyway…

I’ll never say if I win the lottery, but there will be signs.

The culture wars, the race wars, the gender wars...all smoke screens for the war they don't want you to fight. The class wars.

Huh…I wonder what would have caused that spike in the data…
