Ppl who can’t last 6 months in the opposition should not be in politics

This was the rule in thy he 19th century when Zionism as born. And of course there are nations like Saudi or the Emirates which are essentially owned by families. But ultimately yes, that kind of state is untimely and Israel should grow up

At this point maybe it’s quantity rather than quality

One thing that’s tough is that some trans folk don’t really want people to know… maybe they should do it by weight class like boxing

And high school sports is a burning national issue… not. Fuck off. The young person likes to run and compete - why should you give a fuck in what group? per CA law both the trans athlete and the best cis athlete received 1st place so no one was harmed.

I think the problem is that US Jews have been yoked to the territorial war in Israel - by MAGA who “defend” us, and by Israel too who insist that they are a homeland “for Jews”. My homeland is California thank you. This is a disaster

I don’t think it’s right. But it does happen and it’s not totally irrational. You can’t defeat it head on - you need to defuse the causes. See Northern Ireland…

Every other rich country gives healthcare to every fucking citizen without making them jump through hoops!

They picked the name to sound fucked up so yeah

It means that if your bank account goes over $2000 you lose your benefits which is absurd! Ppl end up keeping money in cash which has all kinds of negative impacts. Like 2000 will buy you healthcare in this country

But things can change. If US democracy survives and a fair minded President is elected, if Netanyahu falls - thinks have moved in the wrong direction for some decades but look how fast things changed in Eastern Europe from 1980 to 1990… or South Africa…

There is a prominent peace group in Israel/Palestine that promotes the idea of a Federation of two states along those lines can’t recall the name…
comment in response to post
Two states are still theoretically possible - these settlers would have to become tax paying citizens of a new Palestinian State ...

Speed cameras + noise sensors too please. Cars are not people and needn’t have privacy rights.

$1B per year would pay all those rents - less than LA pays on homeless services

They pulled off the heist of a Supreme Court seat - that was huge.

that does seem plausible….

Thanks - I’ve been on your side of the argument in some threads and I want to see Dems win, I do. Just want to see nimble leadership and comms so sometimes can’t help but grouse. Onward

I meant “Talking your book” in the sense of fund managers trying to raise the value of their investments (their book) by jawboning - but anyhow what you are describing is “engagement” like fans second guessing trades or plays - it’s not bad. Speak to the content if you want to play
comment in response to post
I’m guessing you’re in the business and “talking your book” … which is not inspiring. If I’m wrong apologies…

Why be mean? If you have a contrary view, educate me rather than insult me. Not sure where I showed myself “thinking so highly of my limited understanding” - I simply wondered if this was wise- is that forbidden?

Plus super fun social media blowing kisses as our leaders queen-wave from the deck of the Titanic. FFS - speculating about strategy may useless but it’s more fun than thumbs upping every useless announcement

Hey the republic is circling the drain - let’s just chill and see what the experts advise. Sheesh after a thousand years leading the party the current crop must know a lot - that’s how we got our current trifecta
comment in response to post
While we’re here it might have been wise for the leader not to announce this. Perhaps if he had telegraphed that one or two Dems works vote aye 1) more Rs would break ranks figuring it’s safe. and 2 angry Dems would make news complaining. Can’t see what this does for us

Idk - Big money into the immigrant roundup - crypto reserve- military buildup - emergencies requiring rushed rebuilding of destroyed programs

Not at all

Because he didn’t do this in any of the cases where we had actual leverage. This needs a simple majority to pass - Dems have no power here

I’m with you there - never too late for the guillotine… but Ireland for example has a ceremonial President alongside the Taoiseach…

Prop 13 shifts the tax burden from people who bought long ago onto new buyers. It also inflates prices, again benefiting people who bought in the past. It discourages older people downsizing and it discourages development indirectly raising rent. It’s a travesty

What are these “young men” we have been hearing so much about? Let us send a probe to their world…

There have always been local police and vigilantes enforcing racism, sure… but today’s ICE is something new- a national force under direct control of the executive branch. They have arrested a mayor and charged a judge and congressperson for interfering with them.
comment in response to post
Trump sure understands it! He’s creating a fresh new national force that’s totally unchained
comment in response to post
Elsewhere nations have separated the sacramental function: head of state (kings r presidents) from the executives (prime ministers)- Charles can be a loon if he likes and no one feels the nation is insulted if Starmer is insulted- sadly our presidents occupy both… it’s too much
comment in response to post
Nope. The cheerleaders are responsible too. The whole rotten “conservative” edifice
