I get a lot of questions about my work for the union. One I get often is whether the money that is won in a grievance goes to the union. The answer is and should always be no. The union runs on dues that you pay. It is not a third party. It is you. It is your coworkers. It belongs to the members.

The National Association of Letter Carriers got a 1.5% increase in their new contract. This is unacceptably low but it is a result of a slump in real union participation. Membership may he high, but people are not going to meetings. They are not organized. The same can be said for the APWU.

The extent of the propaganda campaign should scare everyone. They gave shit to semi-small youtubers to spread around (which went viral) in order to smear Heard. I went down a whole rabbit hole and watched some really well thought out video essays on this. It's insane

It's a shame that the APWU acknowledged the 2020 50th anniversary of the wildcat strike in 1970, but doesn't sell anything on their site that tells stories about it.

It is not and never has been fair. The cap is $176,100. All workers who make less than that contribute 6.2% of their wages, and the employer, who pays that employee, pays another 6.2% on the employee's behalf. Effectively you pay 12.4% on everything. The CEO from below? 0.11% of their income.
