He's a "Prime Minister", not a "President" (we have a King here). And he was not elected as such, his Party was - as it earned a majority in Parliament. He leads his party, therefore he'll continue to be the Prime Minister, as he already is.

😢 It's heartbreaking to see Mr. Singh go, yes. I am an open NDP sympathiser whom, for the second time in my life as a Canadian voter, felt I had no choice but to support a Liberal candidate. This hurts. I like how you describe him as a "defiant optimist", and yes, I will miss him! We all should!
