Perhaps we might see a rise in consultants who debug LLM-written code for companies baffled by data leaks or revenue dropsβnot due to complexity, but because they lack engineers who can truly read and reason about the code.

I get the exact same reaction, but I kind of understand. As a native Android dev I find it hard to consider integrating flutter/RN modules into native projects. The fact that KMP compiles to bytecode might not be enough to persuade them that it wonβt result in sub-standard quality?

I took a YOLO approach to a side project while in beta, and got to production with no problems - happy to see it go stable!

Things I had to explain to my boss when I was building some:
- doesnβt work below Android 12
- canβt use existing app theme
- no custom fonts
- no async loading of images
- Difficult to handle sizes
- Difficult to update them consistently
- sparse documentation
Awful experience π

No doubt, to be fair. Will be interesting to see how the rookies fare later in the season. Big gambles for those teams

Also Haas is looking like quite a competitive team this year; not quite up there with the fast guys but was an impressive performance from them both today

Sorry I know that's a bit reductionist, but would be hard to understand the timeline of that followed by him signing for a seat at, say, red bull; thinking back on his 2024 season I think he's lucky to have a seat at Haas this year

You raise a good point about compose in general though... It's easy to learn the basics, but to get it to perform well requires a deep understanding of the underlying system, which takes time to get to grips with. I often revisit old UI I wrote ~2 years ago and shudder

The experience used to be so fluid and easy that I started leaving my actual wallet at home. Now I'm back to using physical cards again. Chip and pin is a better experience than what Google Pay is now

To be fair I had a similar issue with my Pixel 7 Pro, luckily happened within warranty period so got a replacement. I'm sure it's more common on foldables though
