What about the guy in charge of terror prevention? 22 yo recent college grad? I guess experience is a fluid measurement.

I guess it's good that he puts his thoughts out there. Can't think be used against him in a legal challenge?

Then, you find a place, apply for asylum at the border. Do the work needed and things start looking much safer. Now imagine that country suddenly changing the rules and decide to impose cruelty on your family. What are they supposed to do? Because that is exactly what is going on.

He should take it one step further...imagine you and your family lived in danger in another country..and you were trying to take them somewhere safer. A place where they wouldn't be killed or starve. Wouldn't you do all you could to save them?

So sorry that Senator Padilla was manhandled over this. But if it had not happened, I wonder if her remarks would have been as public as they are now. With the attention on this it must be addressed.

Kristi Noem needs to be investigated for stoking the public toward insurrection . It's basically what Trump did before the attack on the captol. And she has willing participants already working for her.

We already know that many ice agents are pardoned J6rs (original insurrectionists), and Noem as a Federal Admin was expressing insurrectional language by saying they were there to free the citizens from their elected governor and mayor. Somebody needed to call that out!
comment in response to

She already has the original insurrectionists working for her (she has admitted that some J6rs are ice agents), so these words by a Fed Admin carry weight and need to be called out immediately.

The focus on Senator Padilla is drawing attention from her words. We had the Homeland Sec talking about her agency overthrowing the will of the voters. She said that her agency was staying to liberate the citizens from their gov and mayor. That language needed to be called out in that moment.

Only the 2nd amendment, right?

Could you imagine a Dem Homeland secretary saying her words in a state like Texas? Sorry for Sen Padilla. He literally took one for the team. This incident highlights her speech in a way that makes it hard to ignore. This needs to be addressed completely!

Not sure Trump knows what all is going on. I think he allows others to do the work, and they hype him up with their retheric before he gets in front of the public.

Doesn't that place a heavy burden on citizens' right to petition the government for a redress of grevience as awarded in the 1st amendment?

Waste, fraud, and abuse. All this redirection of resources makes the US vulnerable.

While this is fun to watch in real time. I am still stunned that they two men took a chainsaw to government programs with serious and lasting consequences.

The tariffs are just their way of instituting a national sales tax. There is no big plan on trade.
comment in response to

Tariffs are just a national sales tax. There is no grand plan. The big guys just want to bring in more revenue to justify income tax cuts.

I bet they plan to track and follow up better on miscarriages than they do rapes. Thousands of untested rape kits remain untested. Despicable

No money to prevent people from dying in USAID, but we can tear up our streets. This says it all!

Exactly!! They chose to believe the words of a known liar without using their own senses to research and determine the truth. They blindly believed without supporting evidence and even with evidence to support the opposite.

How many of these masked ICE thugs are J6ers working off their pardon? Is there a way to identify the "government workers " and cross-check the names?

The solution is to start making presidents take comprehensive cognitive tests and publicly publish them. Start with trump.

Just strange how Dems are trying to be all things to everyone. The R's just blame, hate, and lie. It seems to be working for them - why is that?

All these groups who bent the knee to Trump didn't follow his history. He never keeps his end of the deal.

The worst part is that Trump planned this. He prepared by having printouts to confront the SA prez in front of a roomful of people. If he was serious about results, him and his advisors would have held a closed door meeting and announced his agreement. Much like he planned to get the Quatar jet.

It's not just insurance companies. Look at medical providers run by medical venture capitalists. You go see a dr, and they try to sell you a procedure, a vaccine, or in-house lab work. They can bill more with less time. No wonder our outcomes are poor.

Can't Senator Rick Scott step up and use his Medicare fraud expertise to help close up the loopholes that allow waste fraud and abuse? This could be productive.

Yes, the ad campaign is showing up on Pluto streaming. It is a sickening tribute to Trump and fear mongering about immigrants.

Tack on the tax hikes of the tariffs with the subsequent increase of state and local taxes (based on the increased cost of goods). Now, take away all the safety nets by demolishing any protections by the government (FEMA, USDA, FAA, etc). They must be actively trying to get rid of the average person

In a different world, we may have had different candidates. The MAGA megaphone amplified by Fox and radical churches, supported by Citizens United, where rich guys bought elections, really changes the trajectory of politics. This messed up to blame Biden. His HHS Secretary never swam in raw sewage.
comment in response to

Yes, Joe Biden is old. He is also wise, resourceful, and brave. He led the country in spite of DJT at a great cost to his family and daily survival. Many of his policies were blocked and dismantled by MAGA, and now when Trump revives the smallest portion, it becomes a "great idea".

Where is the right to life in all this? They want to reimplant an ectopic pregnancy (which isn't possible) because ALL life is precious. They imprison pregnant women for possibly harming their fetus but won't vaccinate a healthy child. How does this make sense? Why is this debatable?
