Really surprised with how well Sanderson approximated Jordan in Gathering Storm. Not only has Nyneave tugged on her braid, Egwene has crossed her arms under her breasts and the first time Vanin was in the book he was called fat three times (three different ways) - and I’m only 46% through.

Check out my spoiler-free review of The Third Rule of Time Travel by @pfracassi.bsky.social - live on the channel now 📚🪐 youtu.be/7WmUQWYxebI

This morning I recorded the review for this week’s book, the Third Rule of Time Travel. Turns out I had already recorded, edited and uploaded it last Friday and just forgot. So that’s 20 minutes of life I’ve wasted.

(take the fictional characters quiz and post the first four you know: openpsychometrics.org/tests/charac...)

I was just watching Bluey with my kids, specifically Flat Pack, which is an episode subtly about your kids growing up, leaving home and you eventually dying. Peter was laughing at the jokes, I was getting emotional. I wonder if in 15 years there will be a generation of kids rewatching Bluey.

I have this real urge to reread a book that was a teenage fave, Tin Man by Dale Brown, but it’s not available anywhere as an ebook or an audiobook. I have a physical copy at least!

Last year the Japanese variety show Gaki no Tsukai had the famous singer Yoko Takahashi go undercover at a restaurant where she fooled everyone right up until she took the stage and belted out A Cruel Angel's Thesis, the intro song to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just stunning.

This does look good. I have faith Coogler wouldn’t put his name to something rubbish. But the actress they cast to play Riri is just so much older than I think of the character from the comics where she was late teens early 20s.

Imagine if we had UBI, and people had the time and energy to create stuff

We are fast approaching mass worldwide unemployment, in traditionally safe fields, due to AI and automation. I think maybe people with creative jobs linked to technology are maybe more aware of this. Several of my friends have already lost roles or freelance contracts to ChatGPT.

Creative workers in the UK are in the curious position of being protected from hostile Labour legislation by Tory peers.

Holy shit - this is beyond huge

Wow holy shit

Oh and don’t be afraid to admit you don’t know something

Whatever age you are and whatever ability you have, start exercising now. Go for long walks, look after your body as best you can. Your health past 40-50 is in decline, why not start that decline at a much higher starting point.

The London ballot getting 1.1m entries is ridiculous. Less than 1.5% of those entering will get to run it. They need to start charging to enter the ballot or something.

Hmmmmm something is happening
