I super want to get in to 2000AD - any tips? I hear there's special jumping-on issues but unsure when the next one is!

I don’t actually live *in* Bristol but just outside, though would be happy to stop in after work!

From personal experience - find some small bookish creators. People who have started in like the last 2-3 months, haven’t blown up so less than 200 subs. I’m happy to vouch for you if they’re like “dunno about this” as even starting out you do get some review requests from less good books.

I’ll bet a lot of this is because of Disney+ (and quality/quantity) Pre-pandemic my friends would all see every MCU movie, now most of them aren’t that bothered to see it immediately and if they can wait and see it for free in 3 months then why go see that instead of the latest A24 horror banger.

Jokes on me apparently, I do have a 63% match with the fucking joker when I scrolled down a bit

Every time I take one of these tests I get Tyrion Lannnister. At least it wasn’t The Joker this time.

I thought about it, then I saw the price

I’ve been thinking about spinning up a blog or a YouTube channel or *something* to get the thoughts out of my brain though, so that’s nice

I loved this piece. I’ve largely given up on being a games writer, despite really enjoying it. The avenues to break in are so minuscule, and when you do the pay honestly can’t support my family. I should have tried to get in 15 years ago, I know, but hindsight is 20/20.

As a society, we need universal basic income and we need it to be implemented before everything goes to hell in the 2030s.

The UK alone employs almost a million call centre operatives - I wouldn't be shocked if 95% of those jobs are completely eliminated in 5-10 years. Data entry and office admin roles? They'll be gone too. Over 2 thirds of the average data entry role can already be done by automation.

Conversational AI very quickly went from chatbots that could barely answer basic questions to having a lot of functionality, and with all the data now being fed to them how long before the majority of distance customer interactions are fully AI?

Though I will say I think @indiebooktours.bsky.social is worth every penny to authors!

I’d never ever charge - there are big benefits to me to have a physical copy of your book, as the physical book in a thumbnail will genuinely give me (and the book) way more views, but I don’t even ask for those. Being an indie author is so expensive, I don’t need to add to that unnecessarily.

Big agree. No shade to the people who love it, but it wouldn’t be in my personal top 100. I’ve not seen watched this but there better be a Trails game in this list istg
