HOLY [SPOILER]! [SPOILER] [SPOILER] [SPOILER]! And [SPOILER] [SPOILER]! [SPOILER]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sometimes speculate about the alternate future SO bad that time travelers went back to 2016 to change things because this timeline is somehow an improvement…

It took me an embarrassingly long time during the first episode to realize why John Cho looked so familiar...

“President TACO” is better than “the Human Comment Section.”

www.crowdcast.io/c/historical... On Crowdcast tomorrow night at 7pm PT, hear live readings from historical mystery authors such as Naomi Hirahara, Anne Louise Bannon, Mary Dunkleberger and myself! It'll be my first public reading from Brimstone & Blades. Join us. A Q&A follows each reading.

“Hey, ChatGPT! Give me three citations to studies supporting a finding that vaccines cause autism in children.“ Notice the absence of the word “real“ or “existing“ or “non-hallucinatory.“ Prompts are important, kids! (Hat-tip to @audryt.bsky.social)

Whoa. TIL @andrea.bsky.social was behind the "His Dark Materials" My Daemon app!

You know, just in case the blanket pardon/commutation of everyone involved in January 6 wasn't sufficiently clear.

Right after "Don't use semicolons," "Don't use adverbs," "Don't use speech tags beyond 'said' and 'says,'" and "Always delete the word 'that,'" my favorite piece of writing advice is "Don't listen to people giving writing advice who are incessantly telling you not to do things."

BAY AREA FRIENDS. I'll be signing Brimstone & Blades on June 27 at 5:00 p.m. in Hayward, CA. This is a limited capacity event so don't miss out!

If Joe Biden posted this Memorial Day message, the mainstream media and Republicans would say he is completely unfit to serve, with many calling for the invocation of the 25th Amendment. Because it's Trump, everyone remains silent.

“Utah lawmakers’ own study found gender-affirming care benefits trans youth. Will they lift the treatment ban?” (Spoiler: No.) Hat-tip to @stephenblackmoore.com

And on this, the anniversary of the day that Star Wars first opened in theaters in 1977, we pour out a glass of blue milk in memory of incredible practical effects that no one will ever again bother to create thanks to CGI…

He’s just the Comment Section in the shape of a human being, isn’t he.

This is a super-fun YA story by a super cool friend. From the first sentence in the *prologue*, I was hooked. It’s got swords, magic, found family, and some kissing. I’m usually not drawn in by imagery, but I found the descriptions of locations, sounds, and *smells* compelling. Highly recommend!

If this question-and-answer on punctuation from the official Chicago Manual of Style "Style Q&A" section weren't too long for BlueSky, I'd reproduce it here. Instead, you have to click for yourself. My apologies to your clicking fingers. www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/qanda/data/f...

Should someone tell him that Harvard has a pretty good law school?

SACRAMENTO! Celebrate the badass bisexual La Maupin during Pride Month at my signing of Brimstone & Blades on June 21st at the Avid Reader.

It’s interesting to realize that in around 20 years or so there will probably a meme that begins, “If you could go back in time to when Donald Trump was a baby…” #HitlerParadox

The Senate voted to block California’s first-in-the nation rule banning the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035 as lawmakers passed the first of three resolutions to roll back the state’s vehicle emissions standards.

I love this (and Sara) so much.

Just to be clear: They ordered ICE to arrest the black man for trespassing. After video proved he hadn’t trespassed, they dismissed the charge to “move forward,” then arrested the black woman whom ICE assaulted while she was defending the black man who hadn’t trespassed. For assault. Did I get it?

BREAKING: George Wendt, who played a beloved barfly on "Cheers" and found another home onstage, dies at 76.
