OK, it’s gotten worse. Definitely violence now. But still nothing like what Certain People(tm) are claiming.

Mathematically speaking, one out of every 35 U.S. citizens lives in Los Angeles County.

Actually we’re mostly doing great. Pity that Certain People(tm) have a vested interest in pushing a false narrative. Yesterday the protesters had all gone home before the National Guard even showed up. Today the Guard was just standing around in a parking lot. No conflict there, no violence.

Naah, they’d just send in the IRS to— Oh, wait.

Look at it this way: He was just helping the world remember exactly why TACO assumed Germans would be upset that the Nazis lost World War II. Because TACO’s own family sure was.

Peaceful protesters exercising their constitutional right to object to the government arresting anyone with brown skin: Insurrection Armed fanatics storming Congress, destroying property, beating police officers, and chanting for lynching/murder because their guy lost an election: Not Insurrection

This is also about the (false) claim that medical studies with anonymous participants are untrustworthy. They can use it to toss out all kinds of long-settled research, such as that showing the negative effects of pollution.

But this way he can blame Congress (and specifically “Trump-hating radical Marxist Democrats who hate our country”) when it doesn’t happen and PBS and NPR lose funding.

(4. BONUS: Praise a certain corrupt president who also doesn’t know or care about hurricanes, and give him money or help him make profits or just upset people who don’t like him. Also tell him you’ll make FEMA draw the maps however he wants, so he won’t have to correct them with a Sharpie.)

1. Be born into a family wealthy enough never to be affected by a hurricane in any way. 2. Read and watch “news” that doesn’t care about science or facts and reports disasters only to the extent that they can be spun to reflect badly on the other side. 3. Believe that climate change is a scam.

In 1834, a man claimed he had “discovered perpetual motion.” A newspaper ridiculed his claim: “Probably Mr. Murphree has succeeded in handing himself over the Cumberland river, or a barn yard fence, by the straps of his boots.”

“To pull one’s bootstraps to lift oneself over a fence was a 19th century example of an impossible task.” (barrypopik.com/blog/pull_yo...)

Still a Turkish delight, though.
