Though not customary, he and other former living presidents can by law intervene in public affairs, leverage their experience and platform to influence opinion and policy. Is their attitude really one of, ā€œBeen there done thatā€? Of ā€œI will stand idly byā€? Step up, men; these are unprecedented times!

I also don’t see why it’s such a big deal to ask our charismatic former president to do more. It’s not about owing us anything. It’s that he’s a fellow American, and we should all be using every ounce of talent we have to fight for our democracy.

Ever since the days of Reaganomics and those fantastic promises of ā€œtrickle down economicsā€, which we’ve slowly come to realize was actually designed to ā€œtrickle upā€. Joke’s on us, right?!

Indeed! Forsaking NASA itself, a US government space agency subject to federal & 3rd party oversight, for swashbuckling enterprises such as Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin, private companies essentially left to their own devices & selfish ends, spells aspirational and planetary doomā€”šŸ˜’

A take of a famous line in WB Yeats’ poem, The Second Coming: ā€œThe best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.ā€
