Terrific film 👇🏻

RIP, Joe Don Baker. So many things to treasure him for but it's "Edge of Darkness" that lives in my head forever. He's *incredible*.

🔥💯🔥

R.I.P to a real one.

Today in 1940, Nylon stockings went on sale in the United States for the first time.

‘Greedflation’ fears rise as Bank of England official warns firms against price hikes. Profiteering is rife - water, energy, food, banks, insurance, internet, mobile phones, medicines, rents. Need govt action/prosecutions, price caps; worker/consumer elected directors on boards, votes on exec pay.

FROM HIS UNACCEPTABLE REMARKS ON IMMIGRATION TO HIS SUPPORT FOR THE GAZA GENOCIDE AND HIS SILENCE ON THE EXTERMINATION OF THE PEOPLE OF GAZA BY ISRAEL. Keir Starmer is morally bankrupt and not fit to be prime minister. We should be demanding his resignation.

"I was worth my six-figure bonus, says under-fire Thames Water boss." And now @thameswater's customers will understand why their bills have just gone up 35%.

Britain is running out of jail cells because it is locking up tens of thousands of people with drink and drug problems, mental health issues and low educational attainment. Try tackling these issues instead of building more prisons.

We didn’t forget about journalist Jamal Khashoggi, did we? Murdered inside a Saudi consulate. Dismembered. Then a full-on coverup, sanctioned at the highest levels.

Such a great 90s sci-fi horror film check out the trailer for #EventHorizon : www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nlk...

Reform voters think you're a Chairman Mao and Tony Blair combo (derogatory). The left of the party is voting Green, independent, SNP, even Lib Dem. I know your only job was to crush the left and CONGRATS, Keir, you did it, baby! You, Morgan, Tony, Peter, your palz in print media ruddy did it!

Excalibur (1981) 🎥 Directed by John Boorman Merlin the magician helps Arthur Pendragon unite the Britons around the Round Table of Camelot, even as dark forces conspire to tear it apart. #FilmSky

It’s going to be a stressful summer for anyone who’s hidden a body in a reservoir.

To begin at the beginning... Happy International Dylan Thomas Day! Go forth and love the words. 📷 "Dylan Thomas" by John Gay, 1948, National Portrait Gallery, London #dylanday

What's most remarkable about this photo - the fact that Muhammad Ali appeared with The Wurzels, or the bar prices?

it’s imperative ITV produce a drama about the mismanagement of Thames Water or else nothing will be done

Thames Water executives to receive bonuses from £3bn emergency loan. Bonus for dumping sewage in rivers, not plugging leaks, neglecting investment, fleecing customers. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Govt/Regulators do nothing. Let customers vote on exec pay. archive.ph/lcNyD

sometimes i feel like no one hates star trek fans more than the executives in charge of paramount

The Changes is a remarkable - and remarkably progressive - 1975 Children's BBC serial about an outbreak of modern day ludditism in the UK, with a suitably remarkable Krautrock-inspired BBC Radiophonic Workshop soundtrack. Here's the story of my hunt for it... timworthington.org/2018/04/21/o...

At my age, most friends and acquaintances have medical conditions and regular contact with the NHS. Whether it's minor procedures like cataracts or cancer, waiting times appear to be getting shorter. There's a good story out there. Labour should concentrate on its strengths not chase Reform.

Luistari in Eura is the largest excavated Iron Age burial ground in Finland. It is dated to 500-1200 AD. The graves are supine inhumations with clothing, jewellery and weaponry. One reconstructed female dress is included in the official list of national costumes. #TombTuesday

The Tombstone of Lucius Duccius Rufinus, Yorkshire Museum, York, dated to 71-120 AD. The Roman soldier was from the Ninth Legion.  The stone was found in 1688 at Holy Trinity Church in Micklegate. He came from Vienne in France and was a standard bearer. #EpigraphyTuesday

Keir Starmer immitates Reform in his divisive speech. Accuses immigrants of causing “incalculable damage”, making the UK “an island of strangers”. Rightly faces backlash from unions, employers, MPs. Silence on class war, inequalities, profiteering, lack of public services, fuelling frustrations.

Average Onion subscriber.

There are two certainties in the world: The sun will rise tomorrow. You can never out-Farage.

70's kids TV. Mary, Mungo and Midge. A girl, a dog and a flute playing mouse live in a high rise block in a town.

Tackling child poverty could be Labour’s best chance to stop Reform UK’s rise, Starmer's first act was to continue the two child benefit cap. Disability benefit cuts will push another 50,000 children into poverty. Lives blighted to appease the rich. Can't build economy on pain and exclusion.

COMMENT | Starmer’s immigration plans aren’t just mean-spirited, they’re anti-growth

Incredibly depressing day. I've spent my entire life being told by British governments how dreadful immigration is. New Labour did it. The Coalition. The Brexiters. Now Starmer. All of them accusing the ones who came before them of failing to clamp down. The same old vacant mean-spirited bollocks.
