Britain is running out of jail cells because it is locking up tens of thousands of people with drink and drug problems, mental health issues and low educational attainment. Try tackling these issues instead of building more prisons.

Fake Labour are also locking up peaceful protectors under the draconian tory protest laws. Instead of repealing them, Fake Labour are making them more draconian e.g. three months prison for climbing Churchill's statue in parliament square.
How about we stop treating victims as criminals when they lawfully defend themselves. It used to be that way until the moron Tony Blair changed the rules to favour the criminals and yet even more of the shites committed crimes so no wonder the prisons are full.
How do you explain all the wealthier people who commit crimes then? What is their need? Is it like when the wives of millionaires started shoplifting for the thrill and then lefty do-gooders got that deemed as a mental health issue.
OK. So there’s greed etc there too. But also wealth breeds entitlement & that’s a socio economic thing too.
And the thrill thing is the same as random male violence. We used to get all the thrill we needed avoiding predators
Yet society encourages us to be wealthy as a form of self-support and protection of our futures. Random male violence even for reasons such as thrill or they were angry at something is not accepted as a defence when caught though.
I totally believe in justice. Don’t get me wrong. But I also believe in helping society improve. That’s all. A certain amount of crime is clearly driven by poverty. Just because there are wealthy thieves doesn’t make poverty not an issue.
I'm okay with building new prisons if they close the victorian ones which are not fit for purpose (same with hospitals BTW although this never seems to happen)

Both can be done you know it’s not just one or the other.
