It doesn't exactly inspire confidence in USAIC's ability to evaluate threats if they were that worried about a bunch of mobility-challenged seniors (who were also the majority of attendees at the local Hands Off protests, so it's not like there was no precedent to work from).

The bigger concern at this event was aggressive counter-protesters, but the handful that showed up chose to exercise their 1st amendment rights, however obnoxiously, from the comfort and safety of their vehicles.

Thankfully, the only hollerin' in Sierra Vista came from a handful of drive-by Trumpers, outnumbered at least 10:1 by supportive honks, waves, and thumbs-up.

I called the editorial department at the Nytimes to alert them that they failed to report important stories today. There is no way to report this kind of thing online on the app or through customer service even though I am a subscriber. The number is 202-556-3652.
