This is coupled with a proposed 29% budget cut for VAWA programs. Rape crisis centers and DV shelters will close if these cuts are made. The budget includes a 27% decrease in funding for the vicitm legal assistance program, making protection orders more difficult to get. Misogyny as policy.

The air quality in Toronto is worse than any other city in the world right now. Wildfire smoke has had a stranglehold on us for days. Many more people are wearing respirators. Are they living in fear of smoke? Do they need to “just live their lives?” Of course not. Masks work!
