We argue: •Place-based solidarity helps us understand how a shared commitment to place can keep services running under austerity. •Place-based solidarity has tensions and limits. It is not currently a sustainable solution to the retreat of the state.

[20] Low turnout suggests to me complete apathy by the other half of ppl who vote [33% v GE .~60%]. You could argue they wanted to punish Labour. If they did & felt strongly they could have voted Gn/LD which would have actually scared Labour. They didn’t,

And while none of the intentionally chaotic, intentionally destructive, intentionally harmful, and willfully malicious firing/rehiring should ever happen, universal healthcare - the thing every other comparable nation has, like ā€œMedicare for Allā€ - would also have prevented this specific problem
