i was always VERY impressed and VERY intimidated by the folks on the oekaki boards i frequented with leopard-print OCs that they'd lovingly render in full detail with paintBBS's two whole available layers

Pursuit of utmost efficiency in the arts doesn’t benefit us in the same way that automation of other manual labor does. The entertainment industry can absolutely afford to support millions of working artists expressing and creating work they love, but instead prioritises maximum return on capital.
