Really enjoying Ant by Chris Hine. The chapter on his unique draft process, prolonged by COVID, was eye-opening. The backstory on the infamous ESPN piece, the Golden State workout, and the Timberwolves evaluation was excellent.

I have a lot followers on here and I know it’s because I ended up on NBA lists and not Timberwolves lists. So making a hard sell. If you’re a supporter of journalism, of learning the humanizing stories behind the athletes you watch, please help support “Ant.” www.harpercollins.com/products/ant...

Sheesh this one hits hard. Rubio one of my favorite players of all time. His selfless, pass-first game stood out in the iso-heavy NBA. His ACL injury was soul-crushing--I'll always wonder what could have been with his career. "Don't let anyone tell you you're cold." I'm not crying, you're crying.

Cannot wait to dive into this. Congratulations on the book, @christopherhine.bsky.social!

The National Association of the Deaf says the White House's failure to provide ASL interpreters during press briefings leaves some deaf and hard of hearing people without information.

they did not just send that frenchman out with a baguette 😭

I doubt that I would have given this missive from Pope Francis my attention were it not for a steer from @bcdreyer.social, but I really can’t recommend it enough. www.vatican.va/content/fran...

What are the real reasons autism diagnoses are up? Better diagnosis primarily, and possibly more older parents or better neonatal survival. What reasons have been ruled out? Vaccines. RFK Jr. repeats this lie, but it's a lie www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-...

Time to throw up a bat signal for a specific skillset for @skypeascientist.bsky.social We have a classroom that is looking for a scientist who can do a session with them in ASL. Do we know any scientists who would be willing to do a Q&A with a deaf classroom in ASL?

Biggest commitment to a 3 second joke I've ever seen

Honey, honey? Yes, darling? Eating sugar? No, darling Are you sure? Yes, darling Open your mouth Ha ha ha I whisper as I hide in the pantry, eating mini donuts

Parents and activists: this is a win. Those 17 attorneys general were absolutely ready to kill 504, and they have backed the fuck off because of you. They're still after trans kids, so we're not done, but I want to be clear that we are absolutely making a difference. ♿ #deafkids

The description for Rachel Kolb’s forthcoming memoir, Articulate, is fire. I can’t wait to read it! bookshop.org/p/books/arti...

When you see a flower, some of the photons that entered your eye just ended a 100,000-year journey from the center of the sun. Nobody else sees them. Just you. 10% will give up their energy in a chemical reaction that—literally—makes them a part of you.

If you look closely, he's saying the quiet part out loud. This faux interpreter outrage isn't only about making fun and being cruel, though I'm sure that's a fun bonus for them. They want to dismantle the ADA and IDEA. Both are targeted by Project 2025, and Rufo is a Heritage Foundation Fellow.

20 years ago we were suing teenagers for millions of dollars because they were torrenting a single Metallica album and now billionaires are demanding the free right to every work in history, so that they can re-sell it. The law only ever serves capital.

People sometimes make fun of science that sounds stupid and random. Meanwhile, a study of lizard saliva turned into a peptide medication, which was turned into a diabetes medication, which was turned into a GLP1 weight loss drug, that just became the first therapy every approved for … sleep apnea

LOGO FAIL—Are our ears forked? 🤦‍♀️🥲 This beautifully illustrates why hiring a deaf professional is so important. We worked with a hearing designer with a great portfolio, but even after explaining deaf culture and our vision, this is what we ended up with.

My next read. Tell me, what am I in for?

Tommy Orange’s novels are beautiful and haunting.
