Hi! When deciding comps, do POV and tense matter? (Should they match the book that’s being queried?) What’s the most important thing you look for in comps?

Descriptions earlier in the book of Ant’s upbringing and his personality/character also made it really easy to understand how certain things happened during the draft process. Really fun and illuminating read.

Oh, lucky you! Deaf takeover of Sundance, love it. With two deaf-led projects, there's no excuses for accessibility. (But I know how these things go and would not be very surprised if they came up short.....)

Agreed 100%! There was one more deaf related doc at this year’s Sundance, on Marlee Matlin - so cool to see more deaf stories out there.

I also see a documentary on Marlee Matlin directed and produced by Sho Stern. Amazing deaf representation!

Huge, huge hat tip to Nyle for making this happen. I love that this is a deaf-led project, and that 40+ deaf folks were involved in the production. Deaf people telling deaf stories. It’s perfect. I cannot wait to watch!

I remember learning about it as a kid in elementary school, watching the Deaf Mosaic special on VHS. I never felt prouder to be deaf. People like me had stood up against injustice, and we won. The whole country was behind us. Goosebumps, man!
