I've enjoyed Tiny Epic Tactics as a cheap, quick FFT-style boardgame to play with my 11-year-old. It does squad-combat well, and the coop mode is a nice way to teach kids the mechanics before playing a vs. game. So many other similar options have too much set-up for a quick game after dinner.

I'd love a full on table top Gloomhaven-style (but probably shorter tbh) experience of an existing FF videogame. My preference would be FF6 with all of the world of ruin stuff sealed away until you'd completed half the scenarios. I'm a sucker for campaign with sealed envelopes!

In the UK @axionnow.com do this with 3 packs and a box of 250 random bulk cards each player. I like this better as it reuses cards no one is buying and keeps costs down.

Iād say the average is one. Often when there are two they are in quick succession where someone is able to rebuild quickly following the first wipe, so another player wipes again to tidy that up. A third wipe almost never gets played.

I think more of us need your self-awareness, Tim. I'm constantly learning what it is about gaming that I enjoy, and how that might be very different to other people at the table. "Why am I being targetted?" can often be answered by the cards in front of me.

IMO it depends on WOTC's pay structure. I've always assumed content creators are just doing free advertising in exchange for exposure when it comes to preview cards, at which point in my mind the content creator can do whatever they want, and the cringe factor is Wizards requesting free labour š
