...and now it's back in my head... I'd gotten rid of it!

You’re welcome. πŸ™ŒπŸ» With @simonbrading.bsky.social’s enthusiastic support, we’re trying to relaunch the Dickensian tradition of the weekly serial. 🧐 His writing lends itself particularly well to the format. ✍🏻

Seconded, but very quietly and without making much eye contact

All of my books are on KU and I believe they're reasonably priced too. And no, nothing forced!

May I suggest my time travel series? Beginning with The Time Traveller's Nephew. It's not sci-fi, it's very much based in real life, it has a modicum of humour and, I believe, it's well written. Failing that, I have 16 other books that might catch your fancy! 🀣

I agree, there are a lot of balls to juggle as an indie author! And very often we can't compete, even if our work is good, becuase we just don't have the funds to keep up with the big authors and publishers. It's NEVER about the quality - most of our stuff is better!

The Time Traveller's Nephew, the first part of the Displacers series. I poured my heart into that series and it gets great reviews but barely anyone has read it. It's available from IngramSpark, all major retailers, Amazon and on KU. www.goodreads.com/book/show/21...

I'm loathe to DNF anything unless it's really not my thing. Fantasy is, so maybe I'm giving it more of a try than I would normally... Or it might be that I just read the Dungeon Crawler Carl series (you REALLY don't have to have your brain on very high for that) and I'm just out of practise!

They're the only ones of her books I have left to read. Thoroughly enjoyed the rest and am looking forward to them. I've only ever felt that way about Pratchett's books, though; the thought that there will never be any more Discworld still upsets me!

… only to discover the work is already well underway by a team of talented fitters. What happens next? You'll just have to read Chapter Three of @simonbrading.bsky.social's intriguing 'steampunk meets Biggles' novel 'The Battle Over Britain' to find out. | πŸ›©οΈ 🎭 πŸ“š | 🧡 5/5
