One for my buddy Jon who I've had this convo with many times :)

Very cool.

I must have left it on there for weeks as it made me laugh every time I saw it

He never did explain. Sometimes the best and funniest/scariest/bonkers-ist can't be explained - you just have to live with it thinking 'well that happened' Hope that helps :)

All kinds of things run through your head at a time like this - what do I need to beware of? When I asked him he just laughed and said 'Ahhh ah, ha!' And that was the only explanation we had. Turns out he was playing mind games and just thought it would be funny to tape 'beawear' on the lavvy

Then he said no more and went to play Lego. I later found he had taped a sheet of A4 on to the toilet lid and written 'Beawear' on it (as in Beware) and handrawn a poo on it Note: they learn to read using phonics and spelling kicks in later.

Ah, well here goes then. Now this may or not help your story as it certainly will lack any useful context :) We have an older girl/younger brother. After school one day the young fella said 'i know what to do' and went off with some paper and masking tape.

And I did remember another 'Younger brother true life story' over the weekend.... Just thinking through if it's shareable on here...

Ah, just read your reply - and yes there is, or maybe it's a triangle of awful, funny and cute. When young and cute...awful things seem even funnier?

They described in the book as screaming ugly babies :)

It turns out if you launch or 'twang' them with the waistband elastic part a pair of pants can be surprisingly fast - and accurate. And yes, for a grown up, it's bad. But for a younger brother it's also very funny - at the same time. I'm sure there are many more stories like these

When I picked up my 6yr old from a playdate at his friends house, his friend is the oldest of two boys... The younger brother was on the stairs with the laundry basket throwing and twanging underwear at his brother saying and laughing 'ha ha, pants in your face!'...

I used to do this (and I'm a younger brother) with the old style foil and paper kitkat wrappers. Took a real still to open them without creasing them...then to re wrap them. Bit like a bomb disposal expert from a film

Aw cheers buddy, that's great to hear :) it's certainly tricky keep an idea funny while you get it down on paper :)

You find yourself worrying while doing a picture like this about the little detail - do the pockets on the hoodie look real? When you've drawn a shark walking to school!!! Like that's a thing. Funny thing this art....

Well everyone else is looking at their phones, swimming teachers never stop moving :)

Naturally I ran out of room on the paper and had to use masking tape to add another sheet of A3. Tall fellas, these giraffes

Oranges, melons and lemons are also really good to draw on

I like how these background characters turn up, do their bit then you might never hear of them again :)

Well, he is a giraffe.... They do bend their necks low when they run :)
comment in response to post
If you've ever seen giraffe running in real life they do look a little like this :)

I've been thinking since you wrote this what's the 'magic'* of the Pratchett books, hard to put in words...but yes the stories are great but there's also a love of the playfulness of stories and of the English language for it's own sake. *Apologies for pun

Just realised I've drawn him with flowery swimming trunks, this clearly makes little sense, but hey ho :)

Have always wanted to do a picture where a dog puts his head out of the window and it's ears flap in the wind :)

It's not easy to draw on a hot egg btw :)

Ah, interesting. My daughter (9) has just finished reading Wee Free Men, which is such a good book in so many ways... so, yes we'll order this when it comes out :)

You are never quite sure how large to go with the ears so then tend to get bigger every time I draw him :)
