France is the same, and I think in Scotland they have a variant on this system.

I have that Prince Fatty on CD and it's a proper banger!

It must be fame. Baker cannot, clearly, conceive the notion that his deeply repellent views – oft shouted on television and radio and amplified in print – could in some way be contributing to his pariah status in the job market.

17 years ago to the day. "When Sol went up to lift the FA Cup, I was there" Glorious!

I have a Palace fan mate who is beside himself at the moment. Look out Southsea, he'll be hitting the pubs hard very soon!

I mean if it was signed by Bobby Bland it would have been cool but B.B, wow!

I see the rigorous vetting procedures are working well for since they upgraded them after the GE.

Missed out on the t-shirt but very happy with my tote and 5 CDs. 4 new-to-me artists, the pick so far is #FrancisLung's shimmery A Dream Is U. And nice to have the US version of @fieldmusicmusic.bsky.social's wonderful debut with 3 bonus tracks to replace my creaking MP3 download! Thanks folks!

It's gone – what did it say?

I can only imagine that some of the players felt that too. Especially the younger ones like Crouchie and Courtney Pitt!

For impact it has to be Merse helping us out of the second tier after almost 20 years in just one season. Although I still look back on Proz as the finest I have seen wearing our famous shirt.

Completely agree. JM has earned trust from the board and fans and needs to be allowed to make his own decisions. That said, I would be happy with him signing Maya but I draw the line at the tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist 😆

The penny drops with a resounding clang. At. Long. Last.

Well, to be fair I had a ghetto blaster too (twin tape, obv so I could copy ZX Spectrum games!) but it was too cumbersome for regular trips outside. I mentioned headphones though they became popular later – not many folk were out wandering about their crystal radio set and mono ear-piece!

Which is kinda odd given we (headphone wearing 50-something speaking here) were the first generation to experience our music through headphones on the move thanks to the Walkman.

Horses for courses. I love Max and co but couldn't get into Smallhope and Pennyroyal! By all means try again but honestly there is so much good stuff to read I rarely revisit things I have laid aside.

Sounds like the columnists for national newspapers bemoaning their lack of opportunity to say whatever offensive cobblers they dream up they yet still saying it to millions of readers.

Ah, it's ringing a bell now. It's better than Renee and Renate or Joe Dolce though I guess!

I don't know number 10 and I am in no hurry to hear 4 and 5 again any time soon but the rest is pretty decent! Ghosts is a classic and I may have to dig out my Pigbag 12" for a trip down memory lane when I knock off later on!

Staff: The policies we have designed to appeal to Reform and Tory voters do not seem to have them engaged. Starmer: Those are key voters. We should try harder. Staff: Those same policies are alienating traditional core Labour voters. Starmer: [places fingers in ears] La, la, la, I can't hear you.

Without question, Past Lives. Although if the 1990 Beat Takeshi masterpiece was the Boiling Point on offer then perhaps that instead!

Are all these stamps based on myths retold by rock musicians? Black Shuck by The Darkness and Grendel by Marillion I have seen so far, what others are available?

I was a late joiner but I shall miss the insights. As, I suspect, will some of the columnists whose clicks will inevitably fall without you pointing us towards their mental musings! Hopefully it is auf wiedersehen rather than goodbye!

Who'd have thought it? There's a reason for constant trips to the US and it is certainly not for the promotion of Trump and MAGA and Clacton (‘on an international stage’). Clandestine meetings with private healthcare bosses seems much more plausible.

Honestly, what does she get from this sort of exchange? Is broad right-wing approval so important to her. She's around my age and I cannot fathom her stance. Running on pure hatred.

Ta for the heads-up! Kinda concerning that it's opt-out rather than opt-in. I get why they do it but it's still frustrating.

I was chuffed (and amazed) to find Richard Morton Jack's Nick Drake from last year in my local chazza at the weekend for £3. Not started it yet but I recall reading a rave review in Uncut on release. Mind you, it is behind Mike Scott, Barney Sumner and Adrian Smith (Maiden axeman) in the pile!

I remain unconvinced that Pack is a defender. I think Pack is unconvinced too. Lose against the bottom two and beat the leaders? That's #Pompey.

Who is glossing? Yep, it was a pen but overall Leeds got more from the ref than Pompey. Not least a staggering 5 (6) minutes time added on. Oh, and turning a blind eye to all the playacting.
