Realising that the implied thrill of Bond is being a spy doing nerve wracking/glamorous missions with zany gadgets and giving it to a team that knows how to spell that out in mechanics, not just cutscenes, is perfect No idea how it'll fare sales wise, imsims are niche but creatively a BANGER move

I once said that modern ms paint feels made by people who use excel for people who use excel, and then a dev replied and said no it's not and I felt really bad

he's the reason the game awards and summer game fest exist old in games media, written for a bunch of publications, lives for this shit lotsa folks dunk on him for being bland or whatever and the show has had actors to read game stuff off teleprompters from time to time, but I don't mind him

it bears mentioning that I only briefly tried SSX and Tricky a million years ago, and SSX 3 on Xbox was frankly really awkward because that game was SO built around the four shoulder buttons on the dual shock

I'm gonna be that guy because I... just am that guy in this case Blur I was never like a "Wiimotes are the future!" lunatic but I loved the gimmicks of that system, and though you definitely had to wrestle with them sometimes to feel in control, the end result was often compelling to me

I think there's some jadedness after the "big 3" have done okayish, predictable shows and indies are spoiling everyone by releasing bangers all year with no faffing about or preamble people have their expectations in check before they go in these days I think, hype hits if something surprises

I got that vibe from Rivals, too, and yeah it's good to see not just because Infinite was so unbelievably stock and bland, but because it's genuinely cool to see distinct takes on characters that worst case just default to dollar store versions of the movie ones

it's always impossible to know, so I'm sorta neutral about it but have unbuttoned my hype holster and wiggling my fingers above the handle just in case

if you "don't want one" to the point where you're angrily posting about it around excited people, I feel like that's some textbook FOMO-posting if anything 😅
