It is Labour's explicit and unambiguous position that the UK will thrive and grow outside the European Union. From that point of view the equivalence is sufficient not to be scoffed at. (And there are several Hannan-like details to Labour's vision of how that will be.)

What is important to Trump is to suck the life out of anything that isn't his immediate agenda so that the world forever revolves around his momentary whims and he is the lens through which everything is seen. That has huge consequences for everyone and everything else.
