Erm...

Kirby Muxloe Passenger services finished 7th Sept 1964 but the line remains open to this day for freight. The building is long gone but was similar to that at Desford, the next station west. The castle was started in the late C15th but never finished because politics. #SlowTrain

Today's strangely named place is...

Mop Cop & Scholar Green One of those weird places where the title contains the names of two villages, neither of which are near the station! This closed in 1964 but as you can see the line is very much open. Mow Cop castle is a folly but the view is worth the effort. #SlowTrain

Arram Another day another station! One of 9 in the song that stayed open. Arram is easily the least used, sat at the end of a long cul de sac with the tiny village. Probably RAF Leconfield that kept it open. This was one of the 11 services all day that actually stop! #SlowTrain

Abandoned Topically with this week's commemorations here is a WWII pillbox on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Nearly 30 thousand were built in case of German invasion and some fifteen hundred remain, a reminder of what might not have happened 80 years ago. #project52 #VEDay80

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. #MayTheFourthBeWithYou #Mollie #MayThe4thBeWithYou

New season, new club but still in green! Busy day at the oval office: 100m, LJ, TJ, coaching, photography, not breaking my body.

A couple of stops on the way back last week. There may be some more to follow! #TheSlowTrain

Easter eggs with extra bite! Brimstone butterfly eggs laid on Alder Buckthorn trees (donated by @bc-suffolk.bsky.social) that I planted a few years ago for this very purpose, being patrolled for pesky aphids etc by black ants; more power to their elbows I say!

Hugely proud of @scientistsx.bsky.social on the launch of their new book #ScientistsOnSurvival Personal Stories of Climate Action. This is a deeply moving and inspiring book that everyone needs to read -every chapter left me in tears or with goosebumps. Read more: www.scientistsforxr.earth/our-book

I am always intrigued by this building by Leeds station. Firstly, where do you buy curved furniture? Secondly, there should be a mechanism that rotates each layer perhaps quarterly so everyone gets a go at the sunny side.

Today I am briefly here

Yesterday's place with a silly name! [This is near Durham]

A couple of snaps from my latest visit to the Big Smoke. Metropolitan line platforms at Baker Street and uplighters on the escalator at St. John's Wood #project52 #tfl #Underground #BakerStreet # StJohnsWood #tube

Spring is coming, honest!

Wabi Sabi Taking pleasure in the impermanence of things. #project52

It's grim oop North Looking south from the hills above Glossop this lunchtime.

Finally caught the train last week from Platform Zero at Cardiff Central to complete the spreadsheet! Still can't catch a service to or from Edinburgh Haymarket and Bradford Forster Square is in the diary. 😁 #PlatformZero

New Beginnings: Cherry tree and daffodil bulbs ready for planting, once the frosts have gone! #project52
