What’s a poster you had in your room growing up (I was very cool, obviously)

🆕 The sixth of eight 28mm miniatures I have been painting for the new ‘Medieval Foot Knights’ release by Victrix Ltd.⚔️ The flag is one of three flag transfers in the new ‘Loyal Barons’ transfer set🛡️ This might be my favourite, hard to choose though, a lot of options & I had fun painting all eight 😀🖌️

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen and critical Life Events™️ (I'll be fine, eventually), I have had to cancel my planned trip to Chaosium Con Australia. On both a geo-political and personal level, this week can truly get in the bin. 😩

Happy news – our Call of Cthulhu scenario collection NO TIME TO SCREAM has just won the 2025 Origins Award for 🏆Best RPG Supplement🏆! Take a bow Brian Holland, Bridgett Jeffries, C. L. Werner, Mike Mason, James Coquillat, and everyone in the development team!

Vale Edie the Wondermutt (2011-2025). Many a Pendragon session did you season (read: interrupt) with your watchful barks. 💔

Aside from the 165+ games and panels, here's other cool things to get involved in at Chaosium Con Australia 🇦🇺 next weekend, including the Great Pendragon Joust. Mark Morrison has always wanted to run Pendragon for 64 or 128 people at the same time, and here’s his chance...

If your story doesn't contain a passing good knight, a damosel, and people dressing their shields, then I'm not interested

Had a great session today with my Pendragon Starter Set group. Dusting off old pregens for some, diving into character creation for others, and recapping the campaign after over a year away, all to gear up for our first dive into The Grey Knight. ⚔️😊🤘🏻

I wanted to record my "left coast" #OSR #DnD gaming to contrast what others are saying. For me, gaming has always been very politically liberal and generally open and accepting. TSR and other publishers didn't define our experiences with their adventures. ruduswritings.blogspot.com/2025/06/old-...

the unwritten and sure to be unread histories of the 2020s are going to be incredibly jarring

Finally! Rune Lord all geared up for the Hero Wars. May or may not be Argrath, or a least one of them. Storm Bull with rider. Bison from Fenris, Rider body from Dark Fable, gladiator helm and sword from Bronze Age, all available from @fenrisgames.com Now to start Yelmalio chariot..

Post a random photo otherwise everything goes wrong in June.

An episode of The X Files from 1993 or an indie TTRPG designer in 2025 trying to sell you on their hot new cyberpunk RPG and its character classes?

Over the past nine months, I’ve run a couple Revolutionary War campaigns of Sharp Practice for some of my local pals and this past weekend saw what will likely end up being the decisive battle (though that remains to be seen).

Just read a review of the latest Mission: Impossible describing “the commercial underperformance of 1999’s Eyes Wide Shut and Magnolia,” both of which were good movies worth making, and FFS we have got to get out of this shitscape where profitability is the primary stage gate for expressive work.

Dungeons & Dyslexia describes the new Pendragon Gamemaster's Handbook as a "masterclass for Arthurian roleplaying".

I'm starting a new series of blog posts, covering my memories of Warhammer and Games Workshop from 1986-1990. First, how Warhammer's Wood Elves went from a joke to an interesting fantasy culture with some impressive troops. graemedavis.wordpress.com

May 9, 1925: A German inventor claims to have built a “death ray” that is “capable of paralyzing life for six hours over a distance of 40 miles and to an altitude of more than 45,000 feet.” A report of this invention is passed along by the U.S. trade commissioner in Berlin.

Thinking about the upside down pistol bump-fire kill from Hard Target

Thinking about the spookissimus.

My favorite piece of ultra-obscure Hildebrandt Star Wars art: my dad's cover painting for 'Ewok Adventure', an unreleased Atari 2600 game from 1983! #starwars #hildebrandt #hildebrandtart #timhildebrandt #scifi #scifiart #MayTheFourthBeWithYou #StarWarsDay #sciencefiction

Watch SINNERS a dozen times instead. You’ll be better for it.

Forever grateful to @strangestudies.bsky.social for associating Walpurgisnacht in my mind with the idiotic protagonist of “Dracula’s Guest”

Did you know the recently-released Pendragon Gamemaster's Handbook includes two all-new scenarios for #Pendragon by Greg Stafford? These are designed as either a starting point for a group of fresh Player-knights, or for use in an ongoing campaign.

Ooo ooo! An online discourse about what women find attractive vs what men think they should? Conrad Veidt! Straight guys express bafflement but an angular, intense, gothic Weimar party boy anti-nazi is extremely sexy.
