Meaningful concessions? Like what? Support of the Liberal platform that was voted for and won the election? This was the throne speech. It’s what he campaigned on. It’s not the NDP platform which didn’t win.

And there’s other stuff about online activity and just how much police are allowed to get without a warrant. Pretty sure a lot of this bill will get changed in the senate if it passes at all.

Complaints about privacy and civil rights. Some people making giant leaps about what could happen with it. Like being able to search mail with criminal investigations. This is how they can find fentanyl or precursors to it. But people leaping to conclusion they’ll use it for other things.

And he’s doing some border security stuff. Much of it to appease the US. Which is annoying, but he’s trying to get tariffs off & it might help with fentanyl & guns here. The latest bill may be problematic though. It also tries to address refugee claims.

And things like fentanyl and smuggled illegal guns got bad under Trudeau. Carney recognizes more he also has to govern for all the people that voted Conservative in the election. It’s a swing back more right than it had been. He talks about building & even building pipelines.

Trudeau was rather progressive, but in the end that was a big part of what took his reputation down as he focused a lot on culture wars. A lot of it good, but things like big money projects supposedly were halted because of super difficult approval processes.

People who vote NDP (more further along the left on the spectrum than traditional Liberals) voted Liberal/Carney to keep the Conservatives from winning. Carney is doing things perceived as more Conservative than they thought they were voting for.

Raisins take over too much and change the flavour. Whereas currants are a smaller thing and result in an improvement of flavour and texture without overpowering. Just my opinion though.

I know it ultimately didn't happen, but it's irritating posturing from a party that didn't get the votes. Canadians really will not want to head to the polls after we just did an election.

Absolutely! The Canadian people will be incredibly angry if this government doesn’t last for at least 2 years. We can’t keep having elections to get majority governments. If we do, we’d best become a two party system then because those governments are harder to come by now.
