I've been meaning to watch this and keep being reminded of it every few years. I loved Audrey Tautou in Amelia.

I remember discovering this one random Saturday morning and spending the whole day exploring it.

I just got to a line in "otter dreams" (p. 100) that reminded me of my old friend Tobias and decided I had to find out if you were on Bluesky. Delighted to find you here, and loving the book! Thanks for all the wonderful stories over the years!

Same. They've had my steadfast support for well over a decade because otherwise I'm throwing in with the lunatics who think we control the weather, buts it's an objectively bad party.

The combined IQ of my senators is room temperature. And that's largely from a generous helping by Mrs. Britt.

Sweet Jesus, this would be hilarious if it weren't so utterly ghastly.

My first PC was a Packard Bell. Vertical tower, but probably similar specs to this. I can't even express how much joy and opportunity lay before me when I first turned it on.

I love that the generic code screenshot for a 55-year-old COBOL mainframe is a bunch of jQuery.

The "first they came..." poem gets quoted and quoted and quoted and quoted and you know what, we do in fact know who they're coming for first, right now, and that is trans people, and the answer needs to be "absolutely the fuck not, you motherfuckers," full stop.

I remember seeing these videos and drooling over these computers before I knew the first thing about them. I just knew I wanted one.

I was not familiar with them! My favorites from this genre would've been KMFDM and Ministry with a lot of random samples from the likes of wumpscut, velvet acid christ, die krupps, uhh... I'd have to dig out an mp3 player from 15 years ago to name any more.

Always been one of my favorites. Anarchy is a top 5 for sure.

Are there other whens than these?

Alabama here. We get a snow that actually sticks maybe once or twice in a decade. The only time we ever had feet of snow that I can recall was in 1993.

Thankfully I haven't noticed too many.

Glad to have this on Bluesky, Dave. Hope my fellow Birminghamsters can stay warm!

We hardly ever get it here. My two year old would love it. Maybe one day.

When Alabama sends its people, they're not sending their best.
