Ben ik wel Nederlander? Behalve de officiële dodenherdenking en Bevrijdingsdag zijn de genoemde culturele uitingen niet mijn pakkie an.
Bevrijdingsdag is trouwens wel extreem nationalistisch. Zo worden ook alle Nederlandse slachtoffers van koloniale oorlogen van het land herdacht.

Het probleem zit hem in die homogene cultuur. Dat is een onzinnige gedachte. Veel landen en culturen zijn weer opgebouwd uit kleinen groepen en culturen. Het is de diversiteit die het mooi en leefbaar maakt. Het is ook de realiteit. Want nationalisme gaat over lijnen getrokken op een kaart.
