The reason, Mehdi, is because the Dems have a racism problem too, just not as bad as the Repubs (who actively recruit racists). Dems don't want to upset their "centrist" voters, whom they imagine would be offended by standing up for the rights of a minority group. More here:

Zohran Derangement Syndrome #ZDR will be a fun to watch, b/c it reveals what really scares all the whiners: a guy like that could actually expose the $80 trillion we've stolen from working people since 1975. They don't fear socialism, they fear workers learning they don't have to live like serfs.

I'm reminded of a favorite LBJ jibe: He's so stupid, he couldn't pour shit from a boot if the instructions were printed on the heel. #RFKJr

The only way Trump's minions will accept that they no longer have health insurance is when they no longer have health insurance. These people absorb Trump's lies like they were air. They will only figure out they've been lied to when they receive their first $10,000 medical bill. #FAFO

If we're going to be deporting American citizens because we don't like their politics, I just thought of a great project for when Repubs are tossed out of power. Here's a starter list: Steve Miller, Pam Bondi, RFK, Tom Homan, Kash Patel, Russell Vought, Sam Alito, Clarence Thomas.

It's almost as if these rogue SCOTUS clowns cosplaying as justices really really really really want us to take away their corrupt majority as soon as we possibly can. They're screaming at the top of their lungs: "Take away our power, before we finish you off once and for all".

Don't give yourself away there, Petey.

I'm sure there's some fabulous inside-baseball rationale for this. But #Democrats just keep failing these tests. God forbid they should go on record declaring that Trump deserves impeachment. This just makes them sound weak, feckless, and subservient to a tyrant. Not going to fly in '26 or '28.

The reality is ... they are afraid of the worst of the worst. Can you imagine if ICE tried these tactics on, say, members of the Crips or the Bloods? ICE is full of cosplaying thugs, just like their Oberfuhrer Stephen Miller. Preying on the weak & vulnerable is all they've got. This will not stand.

Staffer walks over, carefully removes paper from Trump's hand, rotates it 180°, hands it back, walks away.

Many of us do, unfortunately. That's why he's in the job he's in. But now we're in the Find Out phase, so look out, heavy turbulence ahead. #FAFO

Don't mistakenly assume a moron is acting like a rational actor. I suggest: put on a psychiatric lens and take another look. This is what the scared inner-child says when he has no idea what to do. It has nothing to do with strategy, which requires planning and patience, two capabilities he lacks.

Every seasoned Trump watcher knows that the "in two weeks" tell means "I don't have a clue what to do, so I will give myself 2 weeks to create enough distractions so everybody will forget this." Checking my calendar: yes Infrastructure Week is also scheduled in 2 weeks.

Until they boil in their own juices, wet-bulb-style. Then they will finally STFU, but probably not before.

Probably 70% of all Americans have hostility toward the current US govt expressed somewhere on their devices. Should that be germane here? 1A says "people" (not just citizens) have freedom of thought and speech in this country. So this is just another blatant constitutional violation, right?

I'm going to give him a few days just to see what bilge, with what frequency, he chooses to deliver here. (He thinks he's engaging in "reasoned debate" with the enemy, how cute.) Then I'll flush him.

Enjoyed watching Lawrence O'Donnell take Mike Lee apart like a defective toaster on his show last evening. He presented some intriguing evidence that Lee may have some screws loose ... like so many other post-purge Repubs.

"Business leaders" have more immediate problems than the destruction of American universities. But by all means, go for it. This has the advantage of being blindingly obvious, so ignorable only by people who are willfully blind. Or who WANT to turn the US into a weak but white apartheid nation.

A SecDef of the US just stated that the oath he took to "bear true faith & allegiance" to the US Constitution is simply a suggestion he can ignore at his convenience. Once Congress is out of GOP hands, he must be impeached. Otherwise this is no longer a constitutional republic.

Huckabee is a fanatical "Christian" who believes the end times are here and Christ will return when the final battle is fought on the fields of Megiddo, today that's northern Israel. That's Armageddon. Nukes? Why not. Just the guy you want on the ground at a time like this /s.

I'm seeing some Nuremberg Trials in the future of this country. Treason, sedition, and insurrection cannot go unanswered. People like Stephen Miller think there will never be a reckoning for launching fascism & ethnic cleansing in America. 5M people in the street tell me he is wrong.

Yes on moron, the go-to explanation for all things DJT. But the full 2nd quote reveals (1) "we" is just narcissistic credit-taking & can be ignored, (2) he's bragging about the equipment Israel is using, which we gave them, of course, not US personnel, & (3) he has no idea what he's talking about.

They're leveraging the fact that human minds have trouble processing multicausality. We naturally want to embrace one cause we can latch onto. Lawyers use this tactic all the time to make complex cases simpler for jurors. It is a universal judgment bias, it's how we're wired.

Donald Trump's nat'l monument will be a pyramid of skulls representing the millions of fellow humans his stupidity, ignorance, and vanity will condemn to climate-driven starvation & heat death. Stalin, Hitler, and Mao killed millions, but this buffoon is quite capable of killing us all.

These people's minds have been so poisoned, it's fair to say they no longer qualify as citizens of a democratic republic. Democracy demands a populace that accepts tolerance, compromise, & evidence-based reasoning. GOP denies all three. It is a modern Confederate Party & must be treated as such.

After Tuesday's hearing, this will all be illegal, so the fun will really begin. But it will be in the courts where it belongs, not in the streets of our cities. Blue states will run rings around the orange oaf, who will just get more and more unhinged the more he continues to humiliate himself.

The funny part is this draft dodger (fake bone spurs fully documented) who thinks soldiers are "chumps" (remember his bad hair day in Normandy) has to sit thru an hours-long reminder of the coward he is. Plus, he's realizing his numbers are tanking vs. #NoKings turnout. Sad day all around.
