From the iPaper sadly these Alzheimer’s breakthroughs are all in the USA and approved, but as yet not in the NHS, it is definitely needed since diagnosis is very slow in the UK. Great work underway by @alzheimersresearchuk.org but needs faster adoption into NHS.

Russia is at war with Britain and US is no longer a reliable ally, UK adviser says

AOC: “The girls are fighting, aren’t they?”

So then Elon goes "Kill the Bill!" and Trump goes "Elon has TDS!" so Elon goes "I'm the reason Trump won!" so Trump goes "we waste billions on Elon!" so Elon goes "Epstein!" and a corpulent flunkie goes "Deport Elon!" and Elon goes "Impeach!" And THAT'S why women are too emotional to be President.

In amongst all the excitement I fear many have missed this outstanding bit of trolling by Friedrich Merz. The Chancellor gifted Trump a gilded framed copy of his grandfather’s German birth certificate... reminding Americans that Trump is both the child and grandchild of migrants.

The Cactus 🌵 is having a blooming moment

That will do for the weekend. Farmhouse Fruit Cake a la Mary Berry.

Everybody ten days ago: Farage is totally going to be the next PM, Reform is the new Tory party. Everybody today: Oh.

Got to build those vanilla pods in the USA as well, to avoid the tariffs levied on Madagascar!!

Here’s more peonies #BloomScrolling and some roses

⭐️ 50 YEARS AGO TODAY ⭐️ 17.4 million people voted “Yes” to Europe… …the single largest vote for any single proposition in the UK’s history. This 17.4M was from a pop at the time of just 56M - and represented a massive 67% of all votes cast. Let’s do it again. #RejoinEU

The ICE troopers are on their way, Germany look out he is being returned !!

Trump ist ein großes Arschloch!

Strawberry 🍓 jam then and it is delicious, strawberries from the garden. 👇👇👇

MERZ: Tomorrow is the D Day anniversary, when the Americans ended a war in Europe TRUMP: That was not a pleasant day for you? This is not a great day MERZ: This was the liberation of my country from Nazi dictatorship

In the recurring series that HM Treasury really don't want to reverse the Winter Fuel Cut - Reeves is the only Chancellor be to ever to fall for the idea, every other Chancellor since it was introduced has refused.

After a decade of learning German via online courses, VHS, apps, and several unproductive "meet-ups" in various pubs, I've crunched the data on the most difficult elements of the language. Frankly, the results aren't that surprising.

With all the Spending Review press releases and social media I’m sure @commonsspeaker.parliament.uk will have wanted the Govt to announce to MPs rather than the media !!

My instant response to Winter Fuel Payment news & key message to the Chancellor (I heard while walking to the office, so pls forgive the fact it was done there and then for speed)

No mention of R&D but clearly if economic growth remains the Govt number one priority then tilting the R&D budgets towards innovation & commercial R&D must be the objective since this leverages huge amount of private sector funding & delivers economic growth. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Sounding very disjointed, needs huge defence allocation as well. Wonder what are the odds of a new Chancellor delivering the Autumn Budget.

No doubt that well known term "shovel ready" will get used a lot in the Spending Review. It rarely is ready for any shovel. Chancellor to announce £15bn for transport projects www.bbc.com/news/article...

Well that's a very good move if true. An excellent choice for the Chief of Defence role. RAF chief to lead armed forces, BBC understands www.bbc.com/news/article...

The public doesn’t like Brexit. Has anyone told the media? From the broadsheets to the tabloids, journalism is increasingly out of touch with public opinion. @jonnelledge.bsky.social @newstatesman.com @leedseurope.bsky.social @grassrootsforeurope.org www.newstatesman.com/politics/med...

If I were leader of the Conservative party, I would simply expel a deeply unpopular former leader with absolutely no constituency in the country whose premiership and post-premiership do my party nothing but harm.

I wonder how many times AI will be called out by Reeves in her Spending Review statement. Can help thinking HM Treasury will have factored much more than two weeks AI savings, a sort of stretch target…. www.gov.uk/government/n...
