Thank you for ridin' Metra today

I think it's time to accept that ending slavery was a noble cause of the Civil War, but "preserve the union" was not. I think it's time for self-sufficient blue states to break away (red states might be willing to accept that) and form their own counties... and allow refugee status for people

This title is MUCH better

I mean... WWE will probably give them their solo run

I mean... he's been asking for months, meaning you turned him down before. He can't turn you down ONCE? And it's not even turning you down. It's just letting you know when he already has plans.

It's pretty much ONLY express now outside of the late night runs. You can get from Joliet to Sox-35th in 55 minutes.

Honestly, a lot of people take that Metra. You ride that thing during rush hour, that is Standing-room only. And it's faster than sitting in traffic on I-55 for 90 minutes. But yeah, Shorewood is 100% a Joliet Suburb. Obviously plenty of others like Crest Hill, Elwood, Channahon, etc.

In Chicagoland = "I'm from Joliet" Outside of Chicagoland = "I'm from the Chicago Area"

Joliet is honestly pretty much it's own metro area. Yes, it's a Chicago suburb with TWO Metra lines and everything... but it's also a it's own little economic hub. Hell, I'd argue Lockport is a JOLIET Suburb.

Who even likes Hillary Clinton in 2025? Serious question

I look forward to teachers wearing masks when they need to teach 2020 election revisionist history.

St. Louis is at least mostly condensed into a smallish area that's accessible via transit... but I'll admit there's not a lot there lol

The 35th street Lou Jones stop being added as a zone 2 stop on the Rock Island changed a lot. Joliet to 35th street is only $3.75, and it's a Red and Green line connection. That's a great deal with the regional day pass and almost eliminates the need to go all the way to LaSalle.

We don't need another reason for New Yorkers to come here

I'd like to see population growth/decline statistics for municipalities that are adjusted for the historical decline in family sizes

The fact that Tucker is doing this just makes me assume that means that Putin wants him to do this

The Lime ones absolutely. I think the personal ones are potentially great. My issue is that most are still way too bulky. They need to be lighter and smaller.

Does Divvy offer free rides for people taking a bike from a place of low demand to one of high demand? Because they probably should if they dont.

Rock Island and Red Line stop would be nice... but I suppose Roosevelt isn't THAT far from it.

Along those lines: I decree that Lincoln Park Trustfund babies shouldn't automatically be considered residents of Hinsdale from now on.

I wish some of the rougher burbs genuinely took this approach. Joliet resident: "OH, you're from Chicago? You wouldn't last 5 seconds on the Hilltop."

The Bears and Cubs used to BOTH play at Wrigley, so they had matching team names.

He has Obama Drive in Calumet Park. That's close

Yeah, and realistically, that was the year it could have passed. Every election since then the climate would have been even worse for it.

I live on the Plainfield/Joliet border. For a serious answer, I recommend people visit the Joliet Iron Works Historic Site. Really cool park area with a lot of cool structures.

I see we're hearing from the people in rural Illinois that are subsidized by Chicago, but don't want to acknowledge that.

This looks like a stop gap just to make sure the 40% cuts don't trigger

Maybe they'll add the Transit Omnibus to this one too lol

ok, this isn't that crazy. This is just how Jewel-Osco operates. Some weeks, that cereal will be $8. The next week, it'll be $2. Look at the Jewel ad this week. You can get Raisin Bran for $2.99 when it's normally $6.49. At least 1-2 weeks a month you can get Lucky Charms and shit for $1.99

When? They're just talking higher ed right now

I think if you went to a Magnet/selective enrollment or private school in the city, you lose the right to say you "grew up" in the city.
