It doesn't bother me because he has never cared at all about even a veneer of truth - he will happily make up excuses for the obvious, and he doesn't need rain to say it was just the weather. Or whatever he hears from Fox that day.

Uuugh, sitcoms and romcoms that start off with a silly (or not) mistake and then spend the rest of the time digging in instead of saying oops make me cringe into the floor.

One time we went to dinner with @netmouse.bsky.social and I thought you were an enjoyable conversationalist. And then I also enjoyed your blog. And then also your books. At this point I have no doubt I will find something appealing in whatever you express, which is how we get to bsky.

I've never really felt like a town I've lived in has been "home", but Lansing, which I've never lived in, does have some spark of home for me, anyway.

I think we really do get it - even the congresspeople probably get it - they're just desperate. A token offer required less courage than revolution. I live very close to Canada, with Canadian friends - I tell them not to come for any reason.

It's all the fickleness of pop commentary by tabloids and digital rags breathlessly ginning up controversy. It's all about money. Like, I don't care that one time a 20-something Chappell said something vaguely rude about moms, but they desperately want me to care.
