When I saw Rogue One on its first week, I was so disappointed. I didn't like it. I couldn't remember the character's names, too much fan service, and broken bits from reshoots. Basically, I nodded along angrily with Red Letter Media's review. Andor made it a better film by filling in the gaps.

The idea that we can resolve injustice by like, both ignoring it and asking those demanding justice to be a bit more quieter about it, is centrism. We cannot do better, things are as good as they can be. Look up at the airships hovering menacingly: God is in Heaven, everything is right below.

It's fine. We're going to be fine. Play another round of Disco Elysium! Maybe Harry will get through his trauma and use that art degree to change the world.

I get it. Don't expect much, right? But Illinois elected a billionaire and he turned out to be the best guy in a long long long long time. This maple syrup banker has, so far, appeared to be of a similar cut of cloth (eat them last).

Trump made Quebecoise patriotic for the maple syrup. Yes, it's gonna be a wash.

The elite: "Are the proles being mean online the biggest problem of our time? Here's a dapper fascist who says yes! He speaks for all True Americans, don't you know?"
Naive fools: "Gosh, the elites are really failing to see the threat of these fascists they're being nice to. They'll regret this!"

I left, returning tepidly back in 2019 when the shitters and troglodytes were being culled slowly/surely. By ~2020, it was good. It's been very good, with CSPAM and FYAD proper quarantines, the past few years.
Just a bunch of internet-raised olds being chill and posting cool stuff. GBS is meh.

FYAD briefly went away like a decade ago, returning a year later.
YCS lives on in Goldmine but yeh. Flamewars have no place outside of FYAD. A good thing.

You have a dozen olds posting whole pages of appreciation of shonen manga weekly serials, and another dozen olds posting pages of appreciation of children's television Star War shows.

My posting career challenges this meme like Icarus fisting the sun.

A half dozen grown kids lurking the olds raising babies, fantasy football, book reading, and writing prompt competitions while FYAD ignites a double-wide trailer of cocaine and baby death jokes on the near-horizon; GBS moves too fast from shitpost to shitpost and BYOB is comatose from legal weed.

"The world's richest man who is also a Nazi took over the government to dismantle the agency that pays for your kids' school and your mom's cancer treatment and is redirecting the money to himself" is literally the world's easiest political layup, to the point it'd be too obvious in 2010-era fiction
