There's also a "when released and what was the competition ?" factor too. Like having a drought of interesting movies and then doing something like releasing Lilo & Stitch, Elio, Karate Kid and others not for the kids, all at the same time.
They need to space them out some more.

Radio 5 had alternating critics on Friday afternoons ... They were quite reliable for me :-D.
One set liked the movies I did, the other didn't. It was quite good for getting a sense of whether I'd enjoy my Friday pm movie ....

I think we'll see similar in the UK with the next election. Everyone will know how the Tories behaved last time but ... The current lot aren't exactly flying the flag for setting standards for coherent leadership.

It feels sometimes that I need to run a Go To Sleep program in my head before I actually start transitioning to sleep.
Otherwise ... I just stay awake

There's one for the telemetry that cars send back about our journeys. I've politely ignored that service :-D

It was curious reading the thread and thinking about the books ... The XWing Rogue Squadron books established something new that was picked up by a different author in Wraith Squadron. They meshed together exceptionally well.
And then I read Scoundrels, which integrated characters from those books

Happy birthday ! I'll take the opportunity to say something nice when I get the opportunity. In the meantime though,
Have a great day lovely one !

It made great sense in the context of the game too. It fit really well with what was going on.
Thanks for the game ! Enjoyed my run through on it and you all did a great job on story, gameplay and atmosphere.

He he he whenever anyone asks if I'm ok, I mentally go down the list of what's giving Broken status flags and then reply "yeah am good" :-D

Oh no :-D
Says me who has been in a highly applicable "I'm not procrastinating, I'm doing side quests" top for everything today.

My last read book was Scoundrels by Timothy Zahn. It felt like an Oceans 11 style heist novel with Han Solo as a central character.
Was a good book. I've enjoyed reading the various other roles and cameos where Han has turned up. (although that's old Legends canon, not the movies canon)

I think since my first concussion, I look up and left when trying to retrieve stuff from the deep memory. Not sure why ... Definitely breaks the eye contact !

(checks A to Z list) ... Yey I can fit this in at F, haven't read one for F yet.
This sounds like it'll be an incredible book, looking forwards to it already especially after the world you set up in Machine and Ancestral Space :-)

I do miss some accounts over from the Twixxer days but it's been a big net positive disappearing from the hell site.
Hopefully I won't need to dip back in there this weekend ! (The last time was to politely poke people about racing streams not working)

"How come you didn't do this as well as that ?" Cos the that took all I had and I didn't have anything left over for the other thing ...
See also why it took well over a week for the BunnyPC build to complete :-D
The invisible struggle is the toughest for others to realise is happening.

It can make it very difficult to get to sleep when the brain is still doing the zoomies ... So I try and switch to doing things that (in theory!) make brain slow down in time for sleep :-D

It's why I put that account in the bin. It's ok to be excited about their show but they repeatedly spoil, which isn't acceptable.

First ran across you as an author with Redshirts, highly enjoyed that book which made me look for more.
And then followed on the Hell site and you consistently brightened the day with bringing lots of daft fun.

I had been thinking about going back to the cinema but ... It seems we're in one of those fallow periods where the offerings just don't appeal.
They've done that for so long - too much clustering of appealing films together that compete and take sales away from each other.

Hang in there !

It was fun doing this for that iteration of the modding system (although I didn't stick with the game, bounced off it for some reason)

Would recommend reading A Wizards Guide to Defensive Baking by T Kingfisher to honour Dr Mundough's memory. You'll quickly see why :-)
(Actually it's a delightful book)

I had a security person in a UK airport decide they needed to be clever like this too.
At 5am.
My brain threw up a big Does Not Compute at them.

Yeah pretty much. 5 to 10 year old me growing up in 70s/80s Northern Ireland could never understand why they were so violent to each other.
They worship the same god right ? They have the same commandments ?
Yep. Couldn't work it out at that age. Still can't (although it's calmer there now)
