I really felt the love and care put into this set. Even if someone only could recognize cloud and sephiroth in the set I was able to describe moments from the games to them via the cards and it clicked. I never would’ve figured things like Emet Selch and the Final Days would be illustrated so easily

I LOVE Y’ALL FOR PUTTING THIS IN. Best comedic card. I also find it funny that this is likely pauper viable lol.

They were at least my favorite JRPGs of the PS2/GC gen personally

If you haven’t played any of the Tales games, at the very least try out Tales of Symphonia or Tales of the Abyss

The showcase and everything was so well done. Not going to lie this set has me absolutely pumped. I might finally put together a standard deck together with this set after having only played other competitive formats and commander for the past 5 years. Keep up the great work!

Like I think I just had to be born like 1980s to understand it, which is bad for a show about toy figures.

If something takes longer than 3 episodes for me to even understand any context then I struggle to justify continuing.

When I saw the first 3 episodes in theaters I found it to be impenetrable as someone who didn’t watch the original show. Witch from Mercury was so much better in my opinion in respecting new viewers. I still don’t really understand what went on in those episodes.

To me there was never just a big 3. Like I didn’t even hear Bleach’s name until I was 22 which was a decade past its supposed height. That was me who watched Naruto, One Peice, DBZ, Pokemon, Yugioh, etc as well as reading those series’ manga + other manga as a kid.

I mean I think the difference is that anyone that wasn’t enfranchised with anime in 2005 specifically will just look at you funny. Where you didn’t have to be alive during the publishing of Moby Dick. “The big 3” is closer to the MCU avengers-Avengers Endgame arc as far as cultural relevance.

If only there were obvious urban planning decisions you could make, to renovate things rather than invoking AI to solve it.

I mean ps5 has almost sold (74.9 million) as many units as ps3s did (87.4 million). Like inflation is shit and no one likes it besides the hyper capitalist billionaire, but all hobbies are increasing in price to keep with inflation. I don’t think this is much more than market lifecycles of inflation

I mean this is just revisionist history. PlayStations were literally sold out and had supply issues the price cut was minuscule and hardly a dent, especially if you wanted a disk drive. Largely the slow initial sales were a supply chain issue during the pandemic over anything else.

I just also generally don’t follow animes if they start before their source material isn’t done. It generally is a recipe for weird filler, stalling, or weird alternate endings.

But yeah Naruto is why my rule of thumb of only watching animes if they have 24 episodes or less exists. Making for the only exceptions being classics that ppl insist are worth it or if a show happens to become over 24 episodes as I’m following its live runtime.

I mean didn’t Naruto get picked up by Cartoon Network mid 2005? I def remember watching it late elementary school and I’m 29. Admittedly Cartoon Network’s time blocking was funky so idk if it was outside of Toonami or if Toonami wasn’t considered Adult Swim yet.

That and it’s technically still going.

Like Naruto gets really crusty at times.

I have bad news for most of those shows. By that I mean most Shonen from that era both get really long and really bad with filler.

If it helps most of the recent queer looking Pokemon trainers in the last two games, like Rika. Was made by the manga author of this series

The character learns what it means to “change” by slowly losing and replacing parts of their body by affixing different materials and becoming something/someone else entirely. It handles grief, gender, trauma, and a bit of queerness really well
