Took me a minute. Not sure if I am not awake yet, our if I need to spend more time with folks that regularly use the -ussy suffix

As a fellow library person, I am quite jealous of those trolleys. We call them carts or trucks here, and I think all of ours are older than the people rolling them.

Health Science Librarians of Illinois scheduled a call with an EBSCO rep last year. You might see if WHSLA can do the same.

Keep opening tickets to let EBSCO know about the lacking functionality. They have been slowly responsive, but it takes lots of tickets to move the needle.

Put -ai after your search. It doesn't get it all, but it helps.

Not cool. Steroids generally are semi-miraculous. Hope something starts working soon.

What... what did I just read? I know my unchurched self is not up on theology, but the Nazarene church I went to never hinted that race was a factor in becoming scantified, and scantification is kind of a big deal for Nazarenes...

I need to do this. My family's dictionary held a place of honor on a shelf between the kitchen and living room. I still remember an argument about the definition of "credenza" peaking with shouts of "Get the dictionary!"

Hiding stuff in the garage attic. Looking at plumbing in the basement and deciding to not fix it because it's overwhelming. Lego towers.

Wait - I am pretty sure that Shep said he was too old for cows a while back because they are too heavy. Is he looking at a mini mustang? Miracle mustang that is somehow less belligerent/spiteful than a cow?

Academia really needs to set up a donor registry for regalia. Like an organ donor registry, but for very specific clothing that feels like it costs the same as a kidney and that is usually only obtained once the original user is deceseased.

There was a related group, "Farmers with CB radios that know everybody," in the rural Midwest that would guide emergency vehicles before 911 addresses and GPS.

Sometimes there is a reason specialty hardware exists. This is why we have Cremone bolts. For when you lose faith in the chair. www.vintagehardware.com/proddetail.p...

They don't, hence the chair. French doors. Bad plan.

I would argue it may be possible, but the new system would be so expensive as to be completely implausible under capitalism. "Education" as efficient and inexpensive workforce development will always be abelist and exacerbate inequality.
