You'd think he'd lose interest almost immediately once he found out how few opportunities the pope has for sexual assault.

Technically, it's only almost exclusively?--but the only way to get a tortie or calico that isn't genetically female is to get one that's genetically XXY, and those have loads of other health issues as well.

To say nothing of: --the folks in red leaning areas that didn't vote because they *couldn't*, because it's super common for those areas to also have lots of voter suppression --the areas that are rural and *not* red leaning, because those exist --the folks that made bad choices but are still people

HARD agree. And, like, not just the "here's what i need from you" stuff, though goodness knows that's important! You also need the "you did the thing, you're awesome" stuff that tells people they're doing well, and the "i think we are selling you short" growth opportunities, too.

Confirmed, that boy could have a deep, fascinating conversation with a rock and the rock would roll away smiling about its new friend

BY GOOD MY SHOES WILL BE SO SHINY THEY COUNT AS SECONDARY EXTERIOR ILLUMINATION

And was this meant as a compliment, like "wow, you're serious about taking care of your equipment"? Or was it a dig, like "you clearly aren't out in the soot enough if your boots are this shiny"?

I also often found that waiting until my girl was chilling and half asleep worked well. "ZzzzzzWhaaa--No! I don't want--" *swallows* "...Goddamnit." The only ones i dreaded were the appetite stims, which had to be broken into pieces and could easily return as white drool if you didn't aim well.

This is low key reminding me of a paper a classmate wrote about the history of barbecue. He remarked that there are many many different versions and flavors scattered across the region, and all of them will claim theirs is the original.

Admittedly some of this goes back to the politics of the 80's, when democrats decided that reagan's victories meant they needed to soft pedal their left-ness more to appeal to centrists, and republicans took that as license to swing even *more* rightward and oh my poor aching overton window.

I've seen that logic employed, yes. More specifically, i've heard liberal used to mean "i want more equity, but i'm not willing to dismantle any unjust systems (most especially capitalism) to do it, so i'll just advocate for tweaks and mild reforms and exceptions." Very labor party in britain.

Especially since the term "cowboy" was historically used as a derogative, compared to whites who were always "cowhands"...

I mean, sure, it CAN, but it you heard what the laptop said about the printer's mom, you wouldn't want to talk to it, either.

In college, someone had a Martha Graham quote up in their studio: "No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.”

Good luck on that!

Agreed. I hate hate hate that the dems' big political selling point for years boils down to "vote for us, we're not fascists or tyrants", and kamala is very much of that stripe (she wouldn't have the nom if she weren't). I hate it. But when their only major rivals ARE fascists and tyrants...

Woof, i hope it was tough in a "tired from pushing myself, but i got somewhere" way, not tough in a "ow, ow, ow, leave that alone, ow, ow, that is not good pain, that limit was there for a reason, ow" kind of way.

Is it harder to bike with him when he's in pieces? I feel like that could be slow going.

Oh for sure, that's it. I'm more amused that no one ever went back over the policy to evaluate it's efficacy. I'm sure the person who wrote it was just pulling things out of their ass because goddamn it, there has to be a policy.

MORTGAGE GUY CALLS: Underwriting is concerned that your income jumped significantly last year. Is there a reason? ME: (feeling smug) I made the bestseller list three times. MG: Uh-huh. And what is that, please? ME: (utterly deflated and somewhat gobsmacked) It’s…uh…I write books…?

Lies. Sheer lies. Cat wants are Needs. Cats have a Need for some wish fulfillment. Therefore Sergei Needs the cheese straws, because they taste good and he wants them.

That was sort of the way i was thinking, too. If you know you have the money, give yourself a break. Pack the things that are extra valuable or that you know you need packed and labelled *just* *so* to make sure you find it quickly and safely. Leave the rest to the pros.
