Speaking from a place of experience: I beg authors always at least to ASK for more money on the advance. Publishers count on you being meek and grateful. This doesn’t at all address the underlying problem, I know.

I hope you weren’t too nauseous to keep pushing that crypto bill through with the GOP.

What increase in excess deaths does he feel is an acceptable price for decreased vaccinations. Don’t tolerate for a minute the premise that it magically won’t kill people. How many does he think it’s okay to kill?

Earns a spot on the long list of episodes with great premises gone terribly wrong.

First Blood I and II would belong side by side in some kind of “understanding the history of the United States” starter kit.

Hijinks are great! But you read interviews with the cast and writers, and they were beyond exhausted by the end from that schedule. Maybe we could have had higher heights of hijinks if everyone got more sleep.

Sometimes I wonder how much better TNG might have been with only 18 episodes per year rather than 22-24.

Also the answer might have been “yes” had he the will to fight more than not at all. He conceded that argument outright with Garland and set an awful precedent.

Thank you. I hear people fret about kids turning their noses up at dated effects, but in my experience kids are a magnitude more sensitive to pacing. And they think ship models are cool! What today compares?

Oh for sure, but I guess I’m curious what was the pivot point for public opinion, at least in the case of the people wildly opposed to him. There’s no shortage of ammo.

At the risk of provoking reactions you explicitly don’t want, what would you say are the major contributing factors? The gender politics MGSV onward?

I walked away with a sour taste for all the pain it (unnecessarily) slogged through. It gave me a new, completely sincere appreciation for 4. Didn’t know how good we had it.

Really, that they have absurd dips and spikes in quality (sometimes within the same film!) is much of what charm they have.

Did someone not brief the social media intern on what Schumer’s job is

Seriously- why did you confirm Rubio? What concession did you extract by permitting this? They aren’t entitled to your compliance.

It’s an especially easy state for someone to stand out and make a difference

I think there might be a gulf between childless adult fans and parents when it comes to Skeleton Crew. I don’t take for granted when kid-accessible storytelling navigates moral ambiguity and adult concepts without sacrificing entertainment value, and this show nailed it.

Going to second anything with meclizine as an active ingredient, but definitely see an ENT if this is a regular thing.

I have a lot of respect for the fact that Spielberg debuted the first of the fully CGI dinosaurs in long, sustained, brightly lit shots. He’s a smart guy - he had to know he was daring history - and even if the effect is less impressive today taken in isolation, the audacity isn’t.

I suppose it’s a bit late for this, but I highly recommend the definitive edition hack that rebalances drop rates to reasonable levels.

As a RI expat, this type of thread is invaluable and heartwarming.

It’s the only of the films that feels to me like a true Crichton-like sci fi story.

God, I love the Internet in these moments when I can forget about everything else about the Internet.

I had no idea at first that if you hold START while booting an original DS game on your 3DS, it will launch in the original resolution - no garbage interpolation at all.

I know it by reputation, but I had no idea it went this hard on presentation. Thanks!

Comes with a bonus queer entendre if your slang vocabulary includes Jersey.

The core of your argument is super reasonable. It's often in the left's best interest not to deem a dem president "unforgivable" over some conflict with progressive goals. But this is the exact nightmare scenario leftists worry this logic leads us to: a big tent that includes bombing civilians.

I mean I saw you say we should swallow it until the GOP isn't fascist. I don't think that answers people sincerely asking how they can endorse current, ongoing violence to avoid hypothetical violence. If this isn't a red line to turn the burden on the executive rather than the electorate, what is?

That progressives struggle under lack of institutional sway is only part of the problem. It feels disingenuous not to acknowledge the ethical tension in actively choosing to support Biden while he empowers Israel, in open conflict of even his moderates. You do see that?

It's ugly when a whole generation discovers irony at once.

My sense is that the audiences loving it are primed for its choice to uphold a tradition of 90s animation writing (and acting) that's no longer current, but honors the project of a show hyper-committed to being a direct extension of the old one. By that measure, it's nailing it.

I think about this a lot. Hating a demographic of people so much that you lose all employment and your family HAS to fit some definition of insanity. Hardly matters, though - the shit stinks the same.

Awesome - I had no idea this existed.

I once saw a very expensive car with the plates "SCATGIRL". She could easily be a companion to either JaZZKING or JiZZKING.
