I just signed the petition to to demand the Government tax the super rich to rebuild our NHS, schools, and other public services. Will you sign too? you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

We shouldn’t cut a single penny in support for disabled people - we should tax the wealthiest instead. Over 50,000 have backed my petition for wealth taxes, not cuts - as part of our campaign to get as many MPs as possible to vote down these cuts. Sign here: change.org/wealthtaxes-...

At the 2001 Laeken Summit, EU nations agreed to aim for a basic pension of 40% of average earnings by 2007 and work towards 60% thereafter. This was a non-binding commitment, not a directive State pension by 2017: £7,440 - UK £15,811 - France £26,366 - Germany £26,630 - Spain What a contrast 😱

They both keep their money in Tax Havens.

"My colleague Pecksniff recently asked the question: ‘Why, in one of the ten richest countries in the world, do we feel so poor. Where did the money go?’ The answer is easy: it went to the rich. But that is only the beginning of the issue. How did it happen, and what do we want to do about it?"

Council tax went up 12 years in a row under the Tory governments. #PMQs

Over 20,000 people have already backed my petition calling for a Wealth Tax, not cuts to disability support. As part of our campaigning to get as many MPs as possible to vote down these cuts, I’ll present this in Parliament ahead of any vote. Sign here👇 chng.it/zWMrwRvY8Y

All that fuss in 2023? ##priceincreases

If we lost the billionaires what would we lose? Absolutely nothing. What would we gain? $20tn, all our Public Services back, most of our Private ones, and 60% of our housing. Easy choice, isn't it?

Why the hell are we subsidising Elon ‘fucking’ Musk?

In 1900 the Labour Party was formed to provide a voice for the Trade Unions and Socialists who were sick of the Liberal Party which had completely sold out to business and the aristocracy. History repeats.

As an aside, because I’m appalled by Labours benefit reform, there was ZERO real engagement or outrage when the Tories killed hundreds of thousands with austerity and put 4m kids in poverty. But, 250k more people in poverty (including 50k children) to save a small amount is contemptible, frankly.

Without trade unions we wouldn’t have • a minimum wage • maternity & paternity rights • pension provision • holiday & sickness entitlements victories which have benefited every single person in this country Join a union👇 www.tuc.org.uk/joinunion

Unbelievable. Rachel Reeves is thinking about cutting a tax on US tech giants to appease Trump and his band of billionaires. If anything we should be taxing them more - not less! Agree? Sign today: 38d.gs/techgiantsta...

“latest figures show the stark reality for UK’s food and drink businesses struggling to deal with the complexity and bureaucracy that comes when trading with Europe” The relentlessly ruinous idiocy of Brexit makes other cost-cutting efforts look absurd…and cruel. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

To revive economy UK govt must redistribute wealth. Bottom 50% of the population has 5% of wealth; bottom fifth has 0.5%. 1% have more than 70% population combined. Median wage is £29,604. Real average wage unchanged since 2008. Cut taxes on the bottom 50%. Tax wealth. End tax perks of the rich.

There is an alternative to Government welfare cuts - a 2% tax on wealth. There is no shortage of money here, we just need a fairer approach to tax - take more from the few not the many.

Scrap austerity – tax the super-rich instead Britain can’t rebuild with more cuts – a wealth tax on the richest is the fair alternative to funding public services and growth yorkshirebylines.co.uk/business/eco...

This Petition just needs 5,000 signatures to get over the 100k needed for consideration for a Parliamentary debate By almost every economic and financial measure Brexit has been disastrous for the UK - lets start the conversation petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

We're VERY close to 60,000 complaints. Help us make this complaint the biggest in Ofcom's history 👇 goodlaw.social/i1m8

Please Labour, Stop with this Reform-aping arseholery. We see it for what it is and we hate it. We’re v tired of the nastiness, the cowardice and the dishonesty of blaming immigration for govt failures. Put this nasty messaging in the bin and do better. Thanks UK www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

It isn't people on benefits who need to be justifying the pittance they get to live on. It is the billionaires, lets ask them where their money comes from, and how much tax they paid on it. Maybe even introduce a minimum tax. Now that would raise a lot of money.

RedNote is cracking me up…

A teeny weeny 2% tax on Britain’s super rich would raise £24 billion. Think of all the good we could with a sum like that - and it would only ever so slightly make the tax system more fair - plenty of room for improvement after that.

Private equity profiteering from children's misery. Compass Community has financialised foster care. Profits up from £3m to £10.8m. Fees double/triple compared to what councils could charge. Low pay, lack of workers' rights are hallmarks. End privatisation. www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/market...

Without trade unions & the workers willing to back them with strike action when needed we wouldn’t have • a minimum wage • maternity & paternity rights • pension provision • holiday & sickness entitlements victories which have benefited every single person in this country

Let's get this trending #BrexitHasFailed

The problem with Politics is there is no punishment for lying or failure, and you can take as much money as you like off anybody. Anyone else in any other job would be fired or in jail. That is the problem.

It's time to rejoin the Single Market, everybody is in it.

How about this? TAX THE CHURCHES TAX THE RICH KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OF SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE and MEDICAID AND THE VA!!!!! Agree? ✋

NatWest to hike chief's pay to £6.5m as bank returns to full private ownership. In line for bonus to 150% of salary. What has the CEO done for this? Govts push real wage cuts on workers but none on company execs, dividends and share buybacks. It is class war. news.sky.com/story/natwes...

Jeremy Corbyn is suing Nigel Farage. RP if you can’t wait to see Nigel Farage bankrupt

The story behind this picture. This guy got bitten by a Rattlesnake it cost him £153k to save his life. They charged him $83,341.25 for antivenom that cost them $2,500. That is private healthcare and there was nothing he could do except pay.

Farage WOULD have us out of ECHR, residing on shit island with sewage all around us, zero deals from anywhere in the world as we would be under HIS dictatorship. A sad miserable, deprived hell hole of Farage rule. NEVER MUST HE SURVIVE. EVER! Civil war would erupt. SMUG BASTARD

Huge thanks to everyone who’s chipped in to make LBD interventions happen this year. We’re 100% funded by small donations & refuse big donors to protect us from becoming reliant on any individual source. Wanna help? Link in bio👆

“wealthy billionaires and corporations… hoard land as an asset, Britain now having among the highest concentrations of land ownership in the world. Half of England is owned by less than 1% of its population.”

Media outlets rush to condemn climate change campaigners as “middle class” protesters causing “chaos” - while ignoring greater disruption by millionaire landowners The real two-tier politics in Britain? bylinetimes.com/2024/12/12/t...

Child Poverty % (children living in households below the minimum wage) Denmark 2.4% Finland 3.2% Norway 3.6% Sweden 3.6% The UK 32.1% All four of those countries have child benefits, paid by taxing the rich, that make it almost impossible for a child to be in poverty.

History remembers that it is always incredibly rich and powerful people who already have far too much who always cause the most trouble to get even more money and power they don't need. But even after 2000+ years of evidence, we still allow such people to exist.

Sweden's remarkably clean power grid. In November, this was its electricity generation mix: Hydro 38% Wind 31% Nuclear 28% Bioenergy 4% Zero coal or gas. - Ember data

During the pandemic 17 firms supplied £119m worth of PPE that was deemed unusable in the NHS. Since the start of 2024, they’ve made £83.6m. How is this even possible? goodlawproject.org/firms-who-su...

If that disgusting racist and grifting liar Nigel Farage shouldn't have been on Question Time even once, nevermind 38 times. Give this a Like, or better yet a RP.

Wealth tax is the best way forward

No plan for more tax rises, says UK PM Starmer. Wrong pledge. Taxes need to rise on the rich, cut for the poor to reduce inequality. Top 10% have 57% of the wealth, bottom 50% own less than 5%, poorest 10% have 0.02%. Can't build good society on injustice. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Why is the government not capable wiping the floor with Nigel Farage every single day like this? Alastair Campbell effortlessly destroys him over his Brexit legacy which by almost every economic and financial measure has been disastrous for the country

World’s top 1% own more wealth than 95% of population. Global South countries own 31% of wealth, despite being home to 79% of people. BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard hold $20trn assets, 20% of global investable assets. Colonialism/Imperialism never ended. www.oxfam.org/en/press-rel...

"Brexit has ruined this country, and now the majority of Britons thinks so too." RP if you are that majority.
