<thread> On the left: June 12, Judge Breyer writing that THE test for whether the US Marines/Guard violate Posse Comitatus will be whether they've engaged in "detaining" civilians. On the right: June 13: See for yourself. Note: The DoD has confirmed the detention of civilian to Reuters.

Not surprising. Remember in 2020 how plain clothes officers smashed windows or threw things to incite violence? Or how pallets of bricks mysteriously appeared in certain neighborhoods? The playbook never changes.

My licenses are just documentation of the light leaving my eyes 😭

In anticipation of a new Mario Kart game this week, I assembled the Lego Mario Kart set. The spiny shell was a bonus I redeemed when ordering the larger set. The Kart sits on a stand that can tilt and pivot. Mario's head, arms, and thumbs move. This was a fun build and will look great on a shelf.

If games are gonna start costing $90+ again, fine. But they need to start coming with booklets and manuals again too

I saw an article saying Amazon is canceling their Wheel of Time series. I don't think I've ever been so indifferent to a show I watch being canceled. It almost feels like a mercy killing at this point. The story and character changes from the book series were too drastic to keep fans happy.

I opened the app to the end being spoiled. I was initiating upset, but then seeing how awful the ending is made me happy to know I can skip this movie when it comes to Disney+.

I'm not excited to pay $80 for Nintendo games, but can you imagine paying $80 each year for copy-paste titles like CoD? And then paying for battlepasses and cosmetics on top of that? These companies are losing the plot.

Does anyone else think it odd that we have (in the US at least) health insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance? Is the condition and potential ailments of our teeth, gums, and eyes somehow not part of our health? Seems kind of backwards to pay for 3 different coverages for our bodies.

I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

Does the White House physician really expect us to believe a damn word in that medical report when it starts out saying tRump is 224 lbs? We can see that pot belly. Unless he's pulling the longest Mrs. Doubtfire or Big Momma's House con on us in history, there is now way he is 224 lbs.

I assembled the Lego Amazing Spider-Man set. This features a brick built 3D Spider-Man crawling out of a frame toward you. The back has 2 mounting pieces so you can hang it on the wall. It is 2099 pieces which I like to think was done as an intentional reference to the Spider-Man 2099 comic series.

I don't think this bio on Donkey Kong in the "Nintendo Today!" app went through any proofreading. Or maybe this is some of that super advanced English you only learn in the Ivy League schools.

Update on a Kickstarter project I backed said items had reached port in China but by the time they get here will have a 54% tariff added. The creator is an indie author who understandabley can't eat that cost, so the shipping cost will go up to cover it. Entrepreneurs & consumers are screwed.

Got up early to watch the Switch 2 Direct. It was mostly just 3rd party titles. I get Nintendo won't have much to release this year, but they really should have given us more teaser trailers like they did for Kirby Air Riders. Let us know about 3D Mario and other titles in development.

Shouting into the void, "What is the point of installing a 4TB SSD in my PC if Microsoft is going to throw a temper tantrum over me having 5 GB of pictures and videos saved?!" As a product manager & a user, I want OneDrive to not suck, so I can just have my files on my computer where I saved them.

I assembled Lego 77092 Great Deku Tree in the Ocarina of Time configuration. My adult Link came with a misprint leg which is kind of neat. The exterior features 2 Deku Babas, a deku Tree sprout, and gossip stone. Inside is a retractable Skulltula, torch, & chest with slingshot. This was a fun build.

The problem with working in the office is that I can't sing along to Pandora, but it feels wrong not to join in when a banger like John Parr's "St. Elmos Fire" comes on.
