Whoops, I missed Henry Holiday's birthday. He was born in the year 1839 on June 17th and illustrated Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark" (snrk.de/snarkhunt) three dozens of years later.

"Judge Boasberg's #NoKings Message to Trump on El Salvador" King George III's practice of shipping men to overseas prisons without due process helped earn him a revolution, the judge reminded Trump. My latest, @AllRiseNews.com www.allrisenews.com/p/boasberg-n...

There is a popular myth that Lewis Carroll dedicated a book on determinants (snrk.de/wp-content/u...) to Queen Victoria. It's not true.

Charles Darwin left Tahiti by the HMS Beagle on November 26th, 1835. Before that he breakfasted there while folks back home enjoyed their five o'clock tea. See also snrk.de/page_breakfast. #OnThisDay #OTD #CharlesDarwin #HMSbeagle #breakfast #TheHuntingOfTheSnark Image: snrk.de/page_snarked...

Basiel Mooren used my assemblage (snrk.de/snark-assemb...) without mentioning the source (snrk.de/snarkhunt).

From 2013 to 2017 I used ipernity to present my findings in Lewis Carroll and Henry Holiday's "The Hunting of the Snark". After that I started my Snark blog snrk.de.

#SnarkHeadsUp

Dear Bard, "The Hunting of the Snark" (1876) is one of Lewis Carroll and Henry Holiday's books which has been written to be re-read and re-looked at many times. You might like Henry Holiday's pictorial allusions (engraved by Joseph Swain) to John Martin's painting "The Bard" (c. 1871).
