I don't think I could handle such an increase in reading volume 😅

And had AI that worked reliably to help out.

I've probably been involved in enough of the drama to not view it as "interesting" 😅

I left Omnivore for Pocket because I have no interest in self-hosting.

The problem is how to feed it links from my browser on my phone or my RSS reader?

I already have an RSS reader I'm happy with (Feedbin), so I don't want to end up paying for a feature I don't when Reader support entails USAd$10/month.

The problem is I didn't use Pocket like a bookmark service but as a read-it-later service that stripped out superfluous cruft on a website.

Yeah, the upselling is annoying.
I think Zulip didn't win because it was _just_ different enough to require too much work to pick up. Among the core devs there's very much a spectrum from "ooh, shiny!" to "don't make me learn something just so I can contribute".

If you're coming from PyCon US I don't think I've ever not had those "general vibes [you] hear about in the rumor mill". When you're tossed in with a lot of the behind-the-scene players you inevitably hear all the negative stuff that never escapes from behind the curtain.

The problem is finding an alternative that people will use. For instance, the Python core team tried Zulip and people didn't use it. But enough were already on Discord for gaming and such that it got uptake when we switched.

I don't know who you're quoting.

I don't like the layoffs either, but equating them with "unhinged evil" seems a bit unreasonable.

Is it "ty" like "tie" or short for "thank you"?

I don't have to approve anything (not manager anymore), so I don't have to worry about that ambiguity. 😁
And if you really need an ACK then ask for it and I will still give you a 👍 to ACK the SYN.

I use 👍 instead of ACK. Don't come across ellipses professionally.

Is it just me or does that chimney and roof seem too plain to be covering the Sistine Chapel?

And now you get to add Python 3.15! 😁

So this would be for GH, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, and anything else I can think of.

You're welcome! You can also somewhat tell where I am in the tutorial based on my PRs. 😅

I know asking to be talked out getting yet another domain and setting up yet another website is probably the wrong ask of the type of people who follow me, but maybe I'll be surprised by the responses. 😉

That's not disturbing to me at all. My wife is over 8 years younger than me. Plus, when I was a manager I used to play a game where I tried to come up with something the Gen Z folks didn't know that the Millenials did. I'm very used to "that came out when?!?" moments.

Please leave a comment on the topic saying that! The more people who say they have a use case for this the better the chances it -- or something like it -- will be accepted.

Is that a common practice to set an upper bound on Node for packages?
