The Trump Administration always had the power to bring Kilmar Abrego back. They were always lying about this, all of it was lies. abcnews.go.com/US/mistakenl... They chose to disobey court orders because they are authoritarians who regard the Constitution as an inconvenience.

Day 56. 🇺🇸

very fun to read frederick douglass accurately describe the problem with the pardon power in 1867

Or, hear me out, it was repossessed because he never actually paid for it.

Friday's NY Post cover doesn't disappoint:

Georgia’s governor promotes his Medicaid work requirement as a national model for reform. Yet the program has cost taxpayers more than $86M, three-quarters of which has gone to consultants, and enrolled only 3% of the quarter-million Georgians eligible. (Published Feb. 2025)

Parents and teachers in southern California are urgently asking for help to find a fourth grader who is being “held captive” by immigration authorities in Texas.

I'm not a conspiracy person. But the Musk/Trump thing surely gives cover for all the terrible bills and SCOTUS decisions happening.

An ultra clear read on what rich people money in politics means.

I’m listening, sweetie. Tell me how you won the election for Trump. I need details.

I can tell some of you people have never watched the WWF/WWE. Elon is doing a classic “heel turn.” This builds tensions and keeps ratings high. By Electomania 2028, liberals will try to tag Elon in, but he’ll refuse. Then, when Trump is about to be pinned, he’ll bit Dems with a steel chair.

So he told Kennedy that if other countries drop tariffs, we won't drop ours. Today he says we will. How is Lutnick able to remember to breathe?

"Gugate has almost no experience in this field—and in 2020 was working as a self-employed ‘Landscape Business Owner. There isn’t much else on his resumé to suggest Fugate has the requisite skills to weed out terrorists. Prior to his work as a gardener—" www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trump...

Good morning. If the Republican budget bill passes: - 40% of the country will lose money - 15 million people will lose their health care - the richest families will get a $270,000 tax cut - the debt will go up 2.4 TRILLION dollars Who is asking for that??

TX politicos built a brand against illegal immigration. Yet unlike other GOP states, they refuse mandating E-Verify for companies. Doing so, said an ex-GOP state rep, "would create even worse problems. Do you want to go to a restaurant & use paper plates?" www.propublica.org/article/texa...

It's important to challenge this in the courts. It's also important to understand that Trump engages in performative behavior when he wants you to ignore something else he's doing. Don't look away.

Mehmet Oz on people who don't satisfy work requirements for Medicaid: "We're gonna ask you to go on and do something else, like go on the exchanges, or get a job and get commercial insurance, but we're not gonna continue to pay for Medicaid for those audiences."

Abducting people at work sites - meaning they have jobs. Capturing them at court dates - meaning they're following the law. Blocking them from accessible higher education - meaning they're striving for more. And peddling lies about jobless, lawless, driftless.

Have not read the full opinion here, but when it starts out this way, I have a sense of where it's going... storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

New — I wrote about the injustice unfolding before our eyes as rich reality stars are pardoned for their crimes while law-abiding immigrants are rounded up and caged by ICE, and the way communities are rising up to say fuck no.

NEW: ICE has quietly rescinded a policy requiring agents to ensure courthouse raids don't clash with state and local laws. WIRED detected the missing language in a superseding memo posted to ICE's website this week. by me and @dmehro.bsky.social:

Hegseth also announced plans to rename the U.S.N.S. Harvey Milk. He made the announcement to coincide with Pride month.

Gov. Tim Walz is doubling down on trans rights — and criticizing members of his party who are retreating — at a time when the issue has become a political lightning rod nationally and back home in Minnesota.

IMHO, we should grant Bloomberg leeway on the headline because this is tricky to sum up. The Trump admin can't pull an accreditation... but they're already leaning on the accrediting agencies, which they can stop recognizing, which pulls federal support. Accuracy is sometimes better than precision.

Watch Lutnick try to wiggle out of the direct questioning by distracting Kennedy with other stuff. But they buy from China. But pharmaceuticals. Lutnick wants all other nations to pay us protection money in exchange for us buying their products with no tariffs. This admin needs a RICO investigation.
