@repjasmine.bsky.social play out what happens in a government shutdown. Military and essential civilians work (without pay). Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid work for 3 months. Civilians are furloughed. And in 3 months he declare martial law. Trump gets his legit dictatorship.

If Trump gets the shutdown he WANTS, he can permanently furlough all civilians. He risks defense contracts for a while but he still has plenty of military people to execute a war if he wants to. Military work without pay during a government shutdown. Schumer is preventing martial law.

This is how I feel. I do not have cancer but I make a lot of sacrifices to ensure the mission gets done. That includes ensuring our troops in combat have the information they need to stay alive. But it takes toll. And after -41 years, it hurts that so many Americans don’t give a shit.

RIP Michelle Trachtenberg. My heart goes out to her family. I have anger towards those who may have harmed her emotionally when she was young. It’s hard not to suspect this is related. I hope there is support for her family and friends.
