The add-ons DO work. Activision, EA, Ubisoft. These corporations have raked in billions through microtransactions and gambling. Billions upon billions of dollars that could fund thousands of games. Those billions? ALL end up in the accounts of CEOs and investors. That's the real problem.

Actually never mind because this is nonsense too. GTA 6 is proported to have a $100 price tag. GTA 5, with its $60 price and all the obscene, disgusting monetization in it, that WILL be in GTA6 is the actual most profitable piece of media, ever. Look it up. This is the most profitable industry.

This is the only point I want to respond to: It's all pure greed. 'Games cost too much to make' relies on the fictional idea that developers are given the lions share of profit for their work. They, simply, are not. Games aren't too expensive to make. CEO's are too expensive to feed.

I loved reading some very long thinkpieces from very smart individuals about why the pacifist child main character from the childrens show should have actually on-screen killed the main villains (They are really really smart and have the most media literacy)

Admittedly, Nintendo is WAY better about these things than most others. Not perfect, but better. But they are also paving the way for every other corporate piece of shit to just do whatever the fuck they want. It's extremely telling how quickly we went from "We're doing $70!" to "It's $80 now!"

Counterpoint: have you looked at the game industry? Videogames HAVE been getting more expensive. Between special editions, copious DLCs, microtransactions, lootboxes, pay-to-pay skinnerbox and predatory design? A price hike would be moderately OK, in a vacuum. In this industry? It's bullshit.

To be fair, this console has a lot of flagrant anti-user systems, is when they're raising the prices of their games by 33%, is coming off the cusp of controversies regarding fangames, tournaments and roms. It's a $500 piece of mid hardware you're only buying because of the usual exclusives.

The enshittification of employment has gotten to the point where every single job - no matter what it is - expects you to give 150% of yourself while on the clock. They expect you to DESTROY yourself. And offer nothing special in return. You're just acting your wage.

You know between this and the rampant abuses of lists, I'm beginning to think crowdsourcing your fucking online curation is a bad idea. Some of ya'll NEED to get more used to the idea of seeing something that makes you uncomfortable for the few seconds it takes to block the source yourself.

Every day I get a reminder that Republicans, through years of lead poisoning and deliberate brainwashing, simply live in a separate reality from the rest of us.

It's actually a little concerning how many progressives have, in the wake of AI bullshit, taken the stance of "Copyright law is good, actually" I remember how many people were cheering for Nintendo's insane lawsuit against Palworld just for the RUMOR of AI being involved.

"dare you" fuck are you gonna do 'brocklanders85.bsky.social'? Bitch about it? QRT with 'lol'? Be somehow even more vocally wrong than you already are? It sure ain't gonna be any actual action in the real fucking world. Also I'd say a cheek swab is worse, but then, I value my body over my property.

The people saying this shit are also the people who would whine incessantly if any development studio went on strike for better pay and work conditions.

Yeah I'm ngl I did NOT expect my light reservations to be responded to so devotedly. It speaks well to the changes FA has made that they've regained enough trust for people to go to bat for them again. I just hope I wasn't misread as more aggressive than intended, I think the website is doing good.
comment in response to post
As another person who stopped posting on FA fullstop when they made the 'body proportion rule' (I like small Pokemon in vore, sue me), would you say the website is definitively safe enough to return to posting on? That we can, fully, trust its new structure and staff? /gen question
comment in response to post
I just hope it's not an empty gesture. It wasn't that long ago that FA was deliberately fucking over babyfurs.

Because privatized and employer-based insurance has worked out so well for the American public so far.

This is a great mindset for it, actually. Because we should never, ever, under any circumstance trust a corporation. We can, however, USE a corporation. One that thinks it's playing us but is still doing things that let us cement our existences and progress.

My favorite is "punk TERFs" who seem to think the entire extent of punk is 'people don't like us'

Pride is for us fat queers, too.

On the one hand, my vore fetish is probably tied to my fear of abandonment, want to disappear from the world, and desire to be able to truly trust someone. On the other cartoons involving it gave me funny feelings when I was like 10 so maybe I'm just Built Different™️

Trump openly campaigned on mass deportation. Trump openly campaigned on cutting medicaid. Trump openly campaigned on anti-queer rhetoric and anti-trans legislation. Trump openly campaigned on gutting the media sector for being critical of him. Yes. You fuckers did, in fact, vote for this shit.

As a neurodivergent person, the most common thing you'll experience is neurotypicals assuming your intentions, telling you your intention, then accusing you of lying when you say they're wrong.

What an unhinged response to 'I am into Black guys' I'm sorry you're dealing with weirdo chuds like this.
comment in response to post
"Is it the game's fault she-" The game isn't a person. Its feelings can't be hurt by you not playing it. Treating a piece of mass-marketed media like it's a living, breathing organism, independent as itself, as opposed to a specific product being sold by specific people is just crazy.

Happy straight people showing off how insecure and needy they are, without prompting, because something wasn't about them for 5 fucking minutes month.

To quote you, we are who we are and your approval is not needed or wanted. Eat shit, bigot, nobody fucking likes you and it's completely your fault ❤️

Honestly you can get a pretty big read on someone's position on that chart by seeing their opinions on weird porn, or pup masks, or whatever else drama the summer always kicks up. Nobody who is genuinely upset by these things, sees furry as a community. Just as a fandom. Just as easy media.
comment in response to post
I'd go so far as to say, for me, Furry is a *community* ala my queer community. Though it's undeniable a stunning amount of furries engage with it AS fandom. I've taken the habit of looking at any given furry/post and asking myself "Is this person engaging with furry as community, or as fandom?"

I'm sorry, it's my fault, I made the mistake of thinking someone with |Capitalism| in their bio ever had a single thought worth listening to.

I dunno I think it's kinda cute-

Right now? You're paying for cruelty. You're paying for mass deportation. You're paying for unregulated corporate abuses. You're paying for American citizens being sent to foreign prisons. You're paying for Trans people's rights being taken away. Wouldn't you rather pay for good things?

I once had a hardcore anti yelling at me because I, shock horror, said I don't care about Asriel porn. Of course got called all the awful and disgusting things. I went and checked their account. Their most recent post? Alphonse Elric, as the suit of armor, with a big ol' glowing dick.

I mean this completely emphatically This is not just a shitty unthought-through propaganda article clearly made to make MAGA parents double-down with their bullshit. This is giving abusers a new stick to beat their kids with. This is a weapon that will kill children.
comment in response to post
Speaking as a victim of parental abuse. If my abusers had an article like this in hand to cite for themselves, to justify their behavior and say 'Well you're just holding me to too high a standard' while they beat me and shout awful things at me? I might not have survived.

Some people really don't like thinking that 'their side' might do something wrong. But it's just a fact that there's a lot of leftists that weaponize therapy speak and mental-health terminology, almost exclusively incredibly wrongly, to demonize and attack fellow well-meaning leftists.

You bring up a great point. We're NOT mean. To people that are nice to us. I'm a big ol' enby gay and I'm surrounded by various stripes of the gender and sexual spectrums. Everyone I KNOW is lovely. We just don't play nice people that do, say, or believe things that kill us. And we SHOULDN'T be!

Remember how upset they got when we made fun of him for pretending to get shot in the ear?

Unironically I think a lot of parents would respond with "well they have Youtube", as though that's even a moderately viable alternative.
