Librarian by day, artist by night. In Ohio, but I'd rather be in CDMX. Gardening, cats, vintage fashion, knitting. Woke just means you give a damn about other people. She/her.

$10 on items. $18 on food and drink. $12 entry fee. Spending the day with my friend: priceless. ❤️

I was visiting friends in New Orleans in 1995, and they took me to several plantations, including Nottoway. They did mention slavery in the tour, but less than I had hoped. Sounds like the owners commercialized it to the hilt since then. Not sad.

Also homebound patrons. Gonna say something snarky about them?
Believe it or not, there are liberal homeschoolers. Also Beachwood, and Cuyahoga County in general, are pretty liberal. The limit was put in place to serve the needs of their community.

Public libraries often check out large collections of books to homebound patrons, homeschool groups, and teachers for their classrooms (many public schools don't have their own libraries).

Also, hat tip to the other communities that can claim the new pope - Peru and his alma mater, Villanova University, in Pennsylvania.

Things I like about this new Pope:
1. He wrote an article in the National Catholic Reporter chastising J.D. Vance.
2. He didn't address the crowd in English.
3. My MAGA-ish, outspokenly Catholic colleague is utterly silent on social media about his election. 😆
