Never understood why the offside rule exists at all. Surely it is not too much to ask the defending team to look out for opposition players in their zone and to actually defend. I have seen the offside call go up because one player is running and is less than a body width ahead. It is petty.

Trump now needs to send the weapons Ukraine needs to protect against the Russian attacks. Surely that is equally effective as sanctions which Russia works around with the help of China, Iran and N. Korea.

Another tax imposed by executive order while he avoids congressional control. Congress are supposed to involved in new taxes and/or tariffs.

Russian terrorism and barbaric behaviour against fellow human beings. It is something the whole world needs to stop.

The Russians are terrorists and Donald Trump is negotiating with them.

You and I can never be friends while you hold these policy goals. Those of us who strived to buy our own home and saved hard to put our kids through school should not be preyed upon by opportunistic taxes as per your list. We paid our taxes through life just like everyone. End government waste.

As we expected. I believe trump's intentions are not as pure as he wants the world to believe. He is after the nobel peace prize and bragging rights. How can he broker for peace if he does not actually know the history of either country or have any sympathy for Ukraine. He is a sad man.

Hmmm, my problem is the court decision was not anti trans, that is a distortion of the truth. It was in fact pro-female and the court stated the ruling was not diminishing trans rights or their ability to pursue their wishes. They just cannot be regarded as female legally by their own decree.

Hard to watch Tammy Bruce being so rude, talking down to her interviewer and projecting vitriol. Clearly she has to perform to keep her job but honestly she confirms what we know; Trump and his style are so much akin to Darth Vader's methods. Tammy Bruce pushed out on stage to pedal BS.

Watching Tammy Bruce interviewed by CNN and she is both rude and aggressive in her exhaustive efforts to praise Trump and Rubio while she deflects and rebuffs the questions she is getting. Clear evidence tells us the US is carrying water for Putin and setting up Ukraine for defeat. Despicable

Canada had 'climate action' in the shape of a carbon tax. The goverment chose stick over carrot. The tax was divisive because rural parts of Canada had zero fuel options and no public transport. The tax was punitive and unfair on rural areas. Incentives are a better choice to get people to go green.

Odd post. Not a clear message. Nor are some of the comments making much sense.

His french is fine (6/10) and no matter anyway. The duties of the Canadian Prime Minister are not diminished by his ability to converse in perfect French. We need to get away from the notion that all skills are negated if a person cannot speak french.

Not just China; Canada still has 25% tariffs on steel, Aluminum and Autos. Mexico too.

I would do the same to Trump if he tried to shake my hand. He is not a good person at all.

I understand her concerns and would argue we do not know how increased carbon taxes on industrial emitters will trickle down to consumers. If that trickle happens consumers will pay that but, there will be NO rebate to look forward to. Carney talks about incentives so I wonder how good they will be?

Russia is saying a 30 day ceasefire will enable Ukraine to rearm, regroup and do better. We say that is what Russia will do during a month's cessation of hostilities so they can attack and finish what they started. Does the Europe accept 30 days will increase Russia's advantage militarily?

I wonder - will Mark Carney reinstate the carbon tax if and when the liberals are elected? This is a clear and present danger. If he does not do that, will carbon taxes levied on commercial enterprises simply be passed on to consumers ? The carbon tax rebate will have gone but the charge remains.

Funny because that is exactly what we all feel about Russia. They will use the 30 days to re-arm, regroup and re-invade Ukraine.

I am incredulous Rubio had the temerity to make this statement in the face of people he knew would take issue with it. These are not his words, they are Trump's but, he does not have the integrity or good manners to say what he KNOWS to be true. Canada is not/will not ever be the 51st state. STFU.

I am a Brit retired and living in Newfoundland Canada (not the f'ing 51st State). I listen to BBC news (R4) via the sounds app every morning. It is, obviously, largely UK centric but, their international news is reliable and balanced. I thoroughly recommend it.

Musk really has gotten too big for his own boots. I think this bizarre comment to Mark Kelly is a sure sign he is no longer in control of his own faculties due to his drug addiction and increased work load. Musk should recuse himself from decimating the US government and regain sensible perspective.

Good because I am still not over the way Mendocino handled the Chinese balloon incident. Clearly opting to say nothing and hope Canadians would not notice.

Carney seems to have a lot of support here. Personally, I worry about having to pay more tax under him. Especially if he has been advising Trudeau who was apparently exploring ways to tax equity in principal residences, capital gains tax increases etc. I will not vote for the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Exactly. Trump surely knows this simple fact. Many have been saying it all along. However, Trump is bitch slapping the victims of the Russian invasion and demanding they capitulate and give Putin 20% of their territory. For good measure he is withholding arms and Intel. What a cruel / shabby stunt.

True indeed. You are one of the better journalists David but, wow. There is so much repetition in the news cycle; at times when we are all glued to our TVs waiting for new developments, so much of the discussion is rehashing the same stuff. Does it bother you too?

All we can hope for is that Trump's plan to get Putin everything he asks for will eventually bite him in the ass. I sincerely hope those advising Zelensky will not encourage him to sign that extortion deal the USA is pedalling.
