...they would never vote for a Democrat ('left') anyway? I'm sure there are so many other reasons why people chose Trump, but even here in Ireland there are some people who will always remain loyal to a particular political party regardless (and feel revulsion towards the opposition 🙄)

.../social, etc. fallout as much as possible. It horrifies, saddens, and frustrates me that so many people, even non-wealthy people, put so much trust in Trump & Co. in spite of so many signs that they would act only in their *own* best interest. I wonder how many people voted for Trump because...

Watching on with horror from the Republic of Ireland (where many people have relatives &/or friends in the US, and just have a human interest anyway.) Trump and his mega wealthy acolytes absolutely do not care. They will keep themselves and their families insulated from any financial/environmental..

...since 'fawn' is one of the reactions to stress (along with fight or flight) he might have this reaction due to dealing with trauma when he was younger, or what 'change' is only surface deep / performative to gain power 🤷 As for Trump, he does seem very tied to Putin and Russia

Yes. Have read so many articles speculating on who the *real* JD Vance really is; he has even changed his name more than once I believe? It's difficult to know what is organic change in ideas through learning and growth, what might have been taken on to please others (one article suggested that...

...to have achieved his academic success, his connections to the whole Project 2025 and so many of his statements just give me the creeps.

😂 But JD Vance seems to harbour genuine animosity towards Europe. I've thought since before he was elected that he might have the potential to be even more dangerous than Trump. He's highly motivated, seems willing to mold himself into whatever form brings him more power 😬, presumably intelligent...

Agreed. However, Trump's ginormous ego may be blinding him and causing him to think that Putin will not go against him. It's difficult to tell. If he *really* does trust Putin then he is an absolute and utter idiot. Like the frog and the scorpion, Putin is not to be trusted

They're speaking about countries as though they are second-hand cars. -You take Ukraine and I'll take Greenland. -Agreed. -We can break them down and trade any useful parts. - Great, talk soon about Alaska. - Sure, I gotta talk to the DRC 🤛

Absolutely. Look up DARVO. It's exactly the same tactic that they pull all the time. Even the "witch hunt" accusations that Trump wheels out 🙄

...and I hope, many others in traditionally allied countries/states, will remember to separate the actions/attitudes of this admin. from American people who do not support MAGA. So many of us Irish people have relatives and friends in the US (and Canada), and also wish to see democracy and peace.

You are absolutely correct in saying that this admin is spectacularly corrupt. I'm watching all of this from the Republic of Ireland. I realize that so many people in the US do not agree with Trump & Co. and are suffering, or going to suffer, as a result of their actions too. I, and I hope, many...

Oh, I dunno. I'm sure US citizens, personnel abroad, and intel from allies are in perfectly safe hands. Right? Right?

...Really great leaders / managers are those who can put their own ego to the side sufficiently to learn new things, not make the non-personal personal, and take the best advice. Unfortunately, it seems that none of this applies to Donald Trump 😞

... However, the descriptions of the symptoms of the disorder were enlightening to me as they seemed to line-up to such a degree with Trump's behaviour. Relevant to the discussion here is his extreme need to praised and never criticized. A really good leader / manager would have the wisdom and...

I've read articles about Trump that speculate that he is suffering from (Malignant) Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I know that it is considered by many to be an ethical taboo to diagnose someone this way, and I am not a mental health professional anyway 🤷 However, the descriptions of the...

...gain power, or has really changed his views over times and power-gain is coincidental, or it's a fawn response from trauma?) Add in Elon Musk, and all the advisors that they must have, and I agree that so much is tailored for the viewers 😞

Yes. Unfortunately Trump has extensive experience in the public eye and seems to be very adept at manipulating (at least some) people. JD Vance has a history of being able to change himself and curry favour with powerful people (whether he 'changes' to gain favour and power, or actually changes...

Absolutely. Like waltzing into someone's house, after they have explicitly told you that it is *not* for sale, and bringing along a camera, tape measure, and interior designer with whom you keep discussing your plans for adding "the wow factor" 🙄🤦
